PrePaid gratuities

We recently sailed on Norwegian Cruiseline(Freestlye Cruising) where we were automatically charged for tips on our stateroom account. Each day they took $10.00/adult and $5.00/child and this went to everyone, waiters(different ones each night) and stateroom hosts. It was much easier than having to do it ourselves.

Thanks for clarifying Wayne - I understand now - lol - must have been reading too fast! LOL

I have to say, I had nothing but stellar service when in the UK! :)

In retrospect, I should have tipped the servers in Topsiders who were AWESOME.

FYI, someone does!! :) All the servers take turns in each restaurant, even the Palo waiters! Kelli

Jelly.....Yes, i did on the second nite. That time it took only 45 mnutes to get dinner. They just were not great servers. Very unavailable.

When we cruised in 2003, in addition to the gratuities, a suggestion from the disboard was to add a Sam's club prepaid phone card as an additional tip. Are cruisers still doing that?

I like to add to the tip amount but aren't keen on carrying extra cash, so the phone cards worked well for me. Anyone else?
