Preorder at BOG!!!!

All the pre-planning seems to work out great for the people who have nothing better to do.

For busy folks, of for folks who don't care to waste time stalking the Disney website for ADR's or being beholden to an ADR finder...not so much.

It has become somewhat of a drag for us.

Oh gawd.

Some of us are able to have a busy life and manage to make ADRs in advance. We are a magical breed.

I love ADR day. Using a vacation day at work (got plenty saved up), waking up to get what I want (which I will, we are flexible with times) then going to Shedd Aquarium.

Fast Pass day is practically a holiday here! :p

I don't. Tried it once and won't do it again (unless there are changes).

There are far too many other quality quick service options in and around Magic Kingdom in my opinion. If theming is what you want, dinner is a much better option in my opinion.
Got it.

The idea that some people could just enjoy planning is apparently unfathomable

(I'm with you!!)

Yes. I haven't been in years. Isn't it funny how you can still be a tourist in your hometown? ::yes::
We make a point of doing it for a weekend once every summer. Going to Hamilton and a baseball game in August. Plus we have 2 of our 3 adult children living downtown. It's too great of a city to not take advantage.

We submitted our pre-order on-line tonight for our upcoming March trip. When I go to our my disney experiene page it is still showing "place your order" as an option. Does this mean our order did not go thru, do you usually get an email showing the order was placed? I actually did this a year ago and had no problems, but can't remeber exactly how it all worked! Thanks for any help in advance!

And then if people have technology issues then they are angry and disappointed. I guess I'm old when I say I long for simpler times. Everything just gets so complicated. We haven't been to WDW for seven years and I feel like I need a refresher course before I get on the plane.
I am in the same boat as you. Have not been to WDW since 2005. First family trip this November. It is all new! We frequent Disneyland, and it is a lot less planning. I am learning alot from the dis!!

Well, I'm 25 and planning our first WDW trip and all the pre-planning and technology is really stressing me out and has me wishing I could just be going to Disneyland (or better yet, Maui)!

Our first MK on our last trip we were stuck waiting in a crazy long line at Pinocchio Village Haus with a kid who was melting down and no tables available. The next MK day we preordered at BOG, walked right in, and they delivered the food to us in about 5 minutes. For this years trip we are doing BOG for lunch at least 2 of our 3 MK days just so we can preorder and avoid the lines.

Aaww, that's disappointing to hear. I've read pretty mixed reviews on it also but was planning to get it anyway next time. Not to get too off topic but what didn't you like about it? Was it just bland?

I've always preordered at BOG & also find it to be a great experience!

Since it is a vegetable broth, you don't get that rich, beefy onion taste that is characteristic for a good French Onion. Rather bland and not a lot of flavor. We also ate at Chefs De France where I also ordered French Onion. The bowl is HUGE! Way too much, and also not the best, but better than BOG.

I agree the pre-order is the only way to do BOG for lunch and precisely the reason I'll never do it again. Little by little every spontaneity us being ripped from my Disney vacations. Okay, so I'll decide 7 months in advance what parks I want to go to. I'll even decide where I want to eat 6 months ins advance because if I want some places and don't decide 6 months out, I won't get anything that fits the schedule Disney is "strongly encouraging" me to make because in three months I need to pick the rides I want to do in the parks I picked 4 months ago based around the time that I picked for the restaurants I chose 4 months ago.

I have to draw the line somewhere.

If I want a cinnamon roll from gaston's tavern because the smell is mesmerizing, I can't imagine wanting to live in a world where I have to say "NO...I can't do it because i already ordered a $16 turkey sandwich that I have to eat in 20 minutes." If I want a fruit and nutella waffle from sleepy hollow, well because fruit and nutealla on a waffle is genius I can't imagine living in a world where I have to say "NO...I can't because I already ordered a $14 ham and cheese sandwich and a $7 bowl of soup I have to eat in an hour."

Okay, /rant.

Seriously though....I do agree pre-ordering is the only way to do BOG for lunch.
You can also change your reservation to a later date (even day of) and then cancel it entirely if you no longer feel like going.

I know this is an old thread but I can't find where else to ask this question: My family of 4 is going to Disney in Nov. I could not find an availability for 4 at BOG. So on a few days I made a reservation for 1. Can I order for all 4 people when I get there? We don't want to sit in there to eat. We just want to take the breakfast and go. Do they let you use your quick service(s) for more than one person?

They don't do to-go orders at BoG. They don't even have paper plates there, as far as I know. You might can get cupcakes that you can take out with you, but that's about it.
