What did you think? How do you really think it ended? :confused3

We just watched it the other night. It was confusing. Also my DD8 kept saying "I don't get it". My hubby said that on TMZ.com there is a whole big discussion about it and what the movie was about. When I get the chance I'd like to read that.

I would like to read it too because I just watched it twice and I'm still confused.

How timely!!! I just watched it last nigjht and while I *think* I sort of get it, it still doesn't make total sense to me.

Um, that was a very intense movie for an 8 year old to be watching :confused3

I got it. It was an awesome movie!

Very confusing movie. I didn't like the ending. :rolleyes1

Unfortunately this was the movie they played on our way to Hawaii. I kept with it hoping it would get good at some point. Nope.

Personally I like these kind of movies, but only when they are done well.

I thought it was okay, though agree Sliding Doors is better.

I wasn't impressed.

So did he survive? I don't think so but she was pregnant.:confused3

DH and I just watched this movie last night.

We're camping and it was raining so I was glad I brought movies. :)

We liked it, but had to pause it a couple of times to "discuss" what we thought was happening.

I knew she was pregnant even before they showed her tummy!

I liked it right up to the crash then didn't. The ending is what makes a good movie for me. I live in the real world, I work in the real world with constant problems; movies are my escape. Give me the Happily ever after and I'm a happy girl!

Now Sandra's other sort of similarly-themed movie, the Lake House, I loved. Of course, she corrected the ending in that one, lol.

I feel the same about books I read. Why, oh why would I spend all those hours/days to get to a sad/tragic ending? I see enough of that around me in real life on the 6 o'clock news. :p That's why I refuse to read any of Oprah's book club selections.

I liked the ending of Lake House too. :)

DW and I just watched it. It was OK, but a couple of inconsistencies are bothering me. Maybe someone can help me...

1) When the movie started we saw Linda's "first" day which was Thursday. She takes the girls to school. The older girl (Bridget?) does not have cuts on her face, while in fact we were told later that her face was cut before Jim died.

2) On Wednesday -towwrd the end -LInda is at the scene of Jim's fatal accident. The crash is such that the car was engulfed in flames. How could there have been enough of the corpse left for a casket on Saturday. Remember how Jim's head tumbled across the parking lot on Saturday?

When this kind of movie breaks its own rules it just takes a lot of enjoyment out of it for me.

I saw it in the theater, while it was confusing for a bit, by the end I had it all straight. The ending threw me for a loop, and while I didn't emotionally "like" the ending, I thought it was a good ending for the story.

I'm weird, I didn't think "Sliding Doors" was all that great, but I really liked "Premonition."

1)Linda doesn't take the kids to school that last day, Jim does. Don't know when the face cutting happened. I assumed later than that day at the beginning of the movie.

2) Jim's head got cut off in the crash. I figured it flew out the window, or the explosion knocked it out of the car, meanwhile they salvaged the remains & put it in the casket. we never do see the lower section.

the girl did go through the glass earlier and should have had cuts on Thursday. I didn't catch that when the mom dropped them off, because it was the beginning of the movie and I didn't think to look. My guess is the reason she didn't have cuts was that it was the beginning of the movie.

I wondered about that thing with his head, too. I was watching for it to come out during the crash (I'm macabre like that) and it didn't. So how does it roll out when they conveniently drop the casket at the exact moment she's asking what was severed? (I thought that was funny.)

Another thing that bugged me was that Linda only knew she was supposed to go see her husband's mistress to-be because the woman told her at the funeral that they'd spoken the day before. Why did she go??? And how did she happen to have the home addres of a brand new employee at her husband's office??? I dunno, maybe I'm being slow.

Finally, when she comes downstairs in her shirt, there are a bunch of people dressed in black sitting in her living room. Why? Do people have get-togethers before funerals? I've only heard of that happening after the funeral.

Finally, all the times people asked her what was wrong, even when she knew what was going on, why didn't she tell anyone????

And if her mom and friend called the shrink to come haul her away (which is what I assume, as the mom let him right in and he said hello to her friend), why didn't they have the kids upstairs or get them upstairs as soon as he showed up? Who would actually wait until the mom was being carried out, kicking and screamin, to try to get the kids upstairs?

And why, when she was being carried out, why did she apologize to the girls??

I had other questions, I just don't remember them all.
