Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Does anyone have an idea what would be a reasonable/safe reservation time for the Yachtman that would allow me to get to the Fireworks Cruise?

The Illuminations cruise departs from the YC so it'd be much easier for you to do that cruise since you'll be eating at Yachtman's.

Does anyone have an idea what would be a reasonable reservation time for after early La Nouba?

Joe

We did just this, the 6pm La Nouba, followed by Fulton's. Our reservation was for 8pm, and the timing was absolutely perfect. We had enough time to walk between the two locations, take a bathroom break, and check in just a few minutes early for dinner. Were seated within 5 minutes of walking in the door. So I recommend an 8pm reservation.

cricketgirl - ugh, I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble! I don't really have any special advice (unfortunately), but it seems like you're doing all the right things. I'm sending you good thoughts though for getting it all resolved.

It just shouldn't have to be that hard! :sad2:

Thanks. DH doesn't want to cancel the Platinum package, but I do now. I just can't deal with all of this and now I'm worried that when we do get there we'll have problems because they just can't seem to get things right.

I don't feel guilty in the very least. We r simply following the platinum package rules not taking anything thats not offered. We are an active healthy couple going to do many of the activities offered in 2 days and relax the remaining 9 days on the DXDP....remember, DS is not coming, he has no interest in Disney, he says he's been there done that so we adults will be on our own!!! My DH is doing 4-bass excursions, that pays for the plan in itself! It's the only way to get him to go to Disney again, lol.

Does anyone know if you are on the Platinum Plan and go for the Swedish massage, can you do one of the other massages that is more money if you pay the difference?

We're all set for our Plat. night in Dec. :woohoo: No problems at all with the Yacht & Beach Club IPO.

Here are our plans:

Monday:
8:30-11:30 Backstage Safari
QS lunch OOP
2-3 Parasailing (Is that enough time to budget?)
5 - dinner at Victoria & Albert's
8:30 - Illuminations Cruise

Tuesday:
9-11 Around the World Segway Tour
12:30 Lunch at Chefs de France
3-4 Behind the Seeds Tour
6-7:30 Cirque
9:10 dinner at Cali Grill

So answer me this??? If I stayed for one night do I get the benefits of the premium plan for 2 days or 1 day?? Do you get meals for 2 days or 1 day?? My hubby and I are seriously looking into this for this coming Sept. Also do you think a lot of the tours and fishing excurtions are already booked?

You get access to the plan from when you check in (which can be very early in the morning) through to midnight on your check out day. Which means if you book 1 night you have 2 days to do everything.
Your dining plan entitlements are linked to the number of nights you have booked. If you have booked 1 night, you get 1 set or 1 day of dining plan credits - so you get 3 meals & 2 snacks to use over the 2 days.

The "Plan" is shaping up.

So far for Day 1 (Night 1 really), we have early La Nouba reservation followed by dinner at Fultons Crab House, 8PM reservation set.

And for Day 2 (Night 2 really), we have early dinner at Yachtsman, 630PM reservation set, followed by Illuminations Cruise reservation set.

Now we just have to figure out one lunch and 2 days of morning tours, some water activity and a couple of spa treatments (for DW).

Does anyone know how liberal they are with who uses the spa vouchers, if one person can use both, and if so, can they be used one right after the other (i.e. massage followed by manicure), or can they only be used one per day by the same person?

Oh, and they are not "vouchers." The IPO has to set up your reservations for you so that the cost is waived by the spa.

Thanks for the info Mary.

FYI, I got the idea for the 1 day Platinum Plan from your website. Thanks for that too.

Ironically, I believe Mary became aware of how to use a 1 day Premium/Platinum plan through this particular thread! But, hey, it works and everyone is benefiting from the exposure.

Unfortunately, with Disney changing the requirement to a 3 nite stay for these plans beginning in 2012, it's now sort of do-or-die for those wanting a great value. For many of us who have planned/used the plans this way over the past couple of years, it comes as no surprise. We even speculated as far back as spring 2010 that this would happen. Still a bummer though!

Thanks so much for the info!!!! That makes me SUPER excited!!!!

Well, I just canceled my 3 day platinum package. When Don orginally called me he said that they would be there to "kiss my butt and make this whole process easy and enjoyable." Well it has been a nightm are. I have problems constantly. No one returns messages. I have repeatedly asked that I not deal with the woman who yelled at me that I gave her the wrong dates. She booked Victoria and Albert's again on the wrong date. 3 times. I have never ever wanted to eat there on the 23rd of September. ALways have requested the 24th. She had me booked for the fireworks cruise before I was even going to be in Florida. I tried email. That didn't work. Same person was working on it even though I requested Don or Miguel. I sent very specific dates, times etc.. She didn't book anything, said she didn't understand what I was wanting.
Example. Need to book Golf lessons for me and my husband On Septeber 24th around 11 am. (please make it as close to that time as possible) Please let me know what the reservation number is once it is booked. This is a quote from my email to them
Her response. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking me to do.
Seriously?
This is just the tip of the iceberg. I am fed up. I just change my reservation and saved over $2400.
So I can't do a couple things, but I was only doing them because they were part of the package. We can still book everything but Fantasmic viewing, and we have to pay out of pocket for Victoria and Albert's and Fultons. I think the $2400 I saved will take care of that.

Sorry, just needed to vent about this.
Lori

Wow, what a horrible example of 'special' service. Which resort was this? I have not done Platinum so I've not worked with the planners, but I have done Premium and got everything taken care of myself. We used a Value resort so that really saved us funds.

Honestly, I'm shocked at the type of treatment you received from a Deluxe Resort. This is the type of issue that should be reported to Disney Guest Services for follow-up. Their training program is extensive and I've never heard of cast members doing their job this poorly.

So sorry that you had to deal with this, but glad you were able to recover, book your own activites and still save funds! Be sure to let us know how your trip went when you return.

Noooooooo! Darn it. Do you know if there's a 3 night minimum even if you're staying on DVC points? I'm dreaming of renting DVC points for a few nights and having the premium plan for 1 of those nights.

Don works at AKL CL I've delt with him many times. I've never had a problem. I just finished booking 6 nights 7 days platinum plan at the YC. Everything went very smooth. They booked everything I wanted with no problems. The golf lessons are being booked at the 90 day mark. The lessons begin at 8 and run every hour up until around 5 depending on the season. As the other poster said she is saving $2,400 and with that she should be able to book the things she really wants to do. It's very upsetting when it doesn't go as planned I would imagine. Best of luck to her!!
