Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

We have our platinum night booked and our Wishes Cruise as well.:cool1:

I know we can have dinner on the cruise... question is, would it be included as our dinner credit or would we have to pay seperately?

We're there for DH's birthday and i think dinner on the cruise would be a fun way to celebrate.

Has anyone ever done the dinner on the platinum wishes cruise? I was told there could be other platinum folks on our cruise... is that awkward?

So sorry to ask but quite a newbie on here needing help and you seem a friendly bunch, we are staying at SSR in May with free Disney Dining Plan, I have always wanted to see la Nouba at Cirque and wondered if I did Platinum Plan so i can get free tickets for the show, for one night for 3 adults and one child, what / how would you work out the upgrade as opposed to me just paying out of pocket for la nouba? I would also love to try Fultons too Menu looks Lush. Thanks and hope someone can help me to work out overall costs.

Welcome! I'm still relatively new to this part of the boards myself. Here is some information for you and a LINK to peruse too.

The Platinum package cost will be as follows:
Rack rate for room + at least 1 day ticket + $229 per adult/$160 per child

You would have to book a separate reservation from the one you already have. I'm not 100% positive here, but I don't think SSR is included as one of the resorts for the Platinum package.

You could also book Premium if you are mainly interested in La Nouba and Fulton's - it is $169 per adult and $119 per child. SSR *is* available as a resort for the Premium package.

Honestly, if those are the only 2 things you can see yourself taking advantage of on either plan, I'm not sure I would do it. However, if you are interested in a couple of other 2 TS credit restaurants (or even Victoria and Albert's) and want to do any of the recreation or tours, it starts becoming more of a deal. It would be cheaper to pay OOP for La Nouba than to do the upgrades. (Not sure about Fulton's or if it is included in regular DDP or not).

I think you should just book the La Nouba tickets separately. You can probably even add them after you arrive and pick them up at will call. That's what I did last year.

Usually in the spring there are FL resident, AP, and DVC discounts if you qualify for any of those.

The tickets are pricey, but the show is seriously good. It is 90 mins of fast paced action. You blink and its over. Seriously - its that good.

You can't upgrade the free dining to a premium or platinum package.

SSR is my home DVC resort. I hope you love it!

I'm on the Platinum plan and working out all the options.
Has anyone managed to do both the Dolphin tour and the Aqua tour on the same day? or do they want to check you out of the Dolphins and walk all the way back to the front service desk and be made to check in again - which obvi would make doing both tours impossible
what do you think?

wow...and this can be done with one night at premium plan price?

wow...and this can be done with one night at premium plan price?

Simple - your One day starts the morning you check in and ends at midnight of your check out date. so a one "day" resort stay actually covers two calendar days. Sounds crazy , but it works ! We did it last June and had about $2K worth of dining, activities and other things during out stay. Our meals alone covered the cost of the Premium plan.

The poster you quoted was using the Platinum plan I believe. But yes all of that and more if they had time/energy to include it would have been included.

In June we are staying at Coronado Springs and doing 1 night on the Premium plan, for 3 of us the cost of that 1 night is $1002  That sounds insanely high for 1 night until you start putting some numbers to it.

We will be doing:
AK Backstage Safari Tour-76.68x3=230.04
Lunch at Yak and Yeti-Approx $75
HDDR Cat 1 Seating-52.60x3=$157.80
Bass Fishing Excursion-$270
Around the World Segway Tour-105.44x3=316.32
Lunch at LeCellier-Approx $120
Dinner at Fulton's-Approx $150
Cirque du Soleil-$87x3=$261
Small water craft rental Approx $70
3 Refillable Mugs $45
Snacks-Approx $24
1 Day base ticket to use at a later time-$87.33x3=$261.99

Approx total $1981.15-Savings of $979.15 ETA: I guess if you were to count in the rack rate cost of the room the savings would be more.

I'm also going to have to pay for a cab on our Fishing morning, but I think my savings has covered that pretty well ;)

Just to note, if this were our first trip or a short trip we would not be attempting this. We are WDW vets and will be staying 10 days on this trip. While it is a good value, if we could not have some relax time this would kill us.

We will be busy for 2 days, but I don't think it will be too crazy since I've built in a couple hours of rest time each day.

I've done both. they will wait until the second tour group gets back to the living seas and then you will join up with them. you will miss the introductions and some background info, but nothing major. I do recommend you bring a small snack, as we were absolutely starving halfway through the second tour. if You shower quick you'll have time to eat in between. also, bring an additional change of clothes as well as your swim suit because you don't have time to dry your hair in between tours, and since my hair is long my clothes became rather damp. it was nice to have a second set of completely dry clothes. I took a second swim suit since I hate putting on a cold wet swimsuit, but that's just me.

When checking in and out of the different reservations can you do this the evening before. We are staying at the same resort and have an early morn tour so I would like to check in the evening before.

Anyone have suggestions or prior experiences?

Thank you for explaining that so clearly - and I read your trip report - it gives even more info and again really easy to understand! Cheers :thumbsup2
I think this is what I'll do!

I haven't had any first hand experience with this, so I don't know for sure, but I've heard that you can check in at midnight on your check-in day. Since you're staying in the same resort (and presumably the same room), that might be a possibility.

For my Platinum stay this past January, I had been hoping to do what you're referring to - - check in after 12:01 a.m. on the day of my plan and then be all set when I got up in the morning. I was told that due to the computer system (which needs to update info, etc.) it would not be possible to check in prior to 6:00 a.m. on check-in day. I think I ended up checking in around 6:45 a.m. at Wilderness Lodge.

Hmm, that is interesting - I wonder what they do with guests who arrive in the middle of the night?

Has anyone stayed at FW on the Prem package? Were you able to get a golf cart rental as part of unlimited recreation/rentals? Thinking of doing a 1-nt cabin stay.

TIA

I am planning a Jan 2012 40th anniversary trip - my gift to husband. 5 nights Contemporary on DxDP, then 3 nights Grand Floridian on Platinum. Blow out celebration!!! On the first day of Platinum, we want to do the Steam Train Tour in MK at 7:30 am. Do the vouchers come in the mail or will I have to check in at GF at 7 am to get them? If we have to check in at GF, can we make it to MK in time? Would it help to go over to GF night before and explain the issue to be sure everything is ready? Should I get to GF at 6:30 am to get process going? We will have park tickets from CR stay so I was hoping to check in later.

I have been following this thread for months but still have lots of questions.

Thanks.

Don't know if you got an answer yet, but we did NOT have vouchers for this tour - we just knew when & where to arrive (7:15am at the front by the left turnstile. The conductor had a clipboard with our names on the list. Great tour, by the way.

You are right - it is tiring, but quite fun. You didn't ask for suggestions, but may I take the liberty of suggesting you make an adjustment? On your second day (Bass Fishing/Segway/Lunch @ Le Cellier) perhaps you could consider doing the 1st La Nouba followed by dinner @ Foultons? Your lunch at LC is probably going to fill you up quite well and you may find it nicer to see La Nouba and RELAX over dinner at Foultons? Just a thought.

I had NO idea you could do these plans for 1 night and I worked at WDW:) I thought they had to be for at least 3 nights. I am planning on doing the Platinum Plan for our 15th anniversary for 1 night in November. Will book within the next few weeks. 180 days out for reservations will be early May. Still deciding on a few things. We will have a car and know property/travel times/parking like the back of our hands since we lived 5 minutes away for 6 years. How does this look?

Day 1
Check in early at WL or Polynesian (still deciding-Poly is a little more maybe $150.) Get breakfast snack.
9am-10am-Parasailing @ CR (may move with Jet Ski time)
10am-11am-Horseback Riding (maybe- if I think we can make it. Parasailing is quick but we still have to get to the front of FW so I may move Parasailing.)
11:30am-1:30pm-Wilderness Back Trail Segway Tour-FW
Light lunch/snack
2:30pm-3:30pm-Jet Ski (Are there set times for this? Are there tours and/or free jet ski?)
4pm-5:30pm-Spa GF (shower there)
5:30pm-6:30pm-Photo Shoot (if still available-may move to Day 2)
6:30pm-8:30pm-V&A
8:30pm-Wishes Fireworks Cruise

Day 2
Room service BF
8am-11am-Wild Africa Trek (they told me today this is included on the Platinum Plan. If not when I go to book- Dolphins In Depth or Backstage Safari.)
12:30pm-3pm-Aqua Seas
Light lunch/snack
4pm-5pm-Richard Petty for DH (maybe.) If not golf lesson (what times do these go to?) or boat rental
Pool time or Photo Shoot if moved
8pm-Spirit of Aloha or Cali Grill

I could throw in a fishing excursion on Day 1 from 7am-9am if I really wanted to push it.

Wow, you are extremely ambitious!!! I do think that if you are able to successfully schedule the photo shoot (others have reported it is no longer part of the plan) you won't need a full hour to do this. You probably will need longer than 2 hours to dine at Victoria & Albert's though; you might consider an earlier reservation (maybe 5:45 or 6:00) so you'd have at least 2 1/2 or maybe even closer to 3 hours.

I hope that whoever told you the Wild Africa Trek is now on the Platinum Plan is correct!!! Can I ask who gave you this information? I would love to see this tour on the plan, and if so I hope I can convince my friend Disney73 that she should do this for a second time, during our July "Girls Only Getaway"! It might be a letdown for her second time around, though, because her big surprise the first time she took the tour was that Joe Rohde (chief imagineer of Animal Kingdom Park) was one of the participants on her tour!

As for the JetSki, if you want to do the Guided Excursion of Bay Lake, there are definitely set times . . . I think in November there would be one tour available and that would be at 9:00 a.m. Summertime they have 8:00 and 9:00 tours. Later in the day, you can still take out the jet skis but you are limited to an area over near the Fort Wilderness shore. They told me this is because the jetskis are the fastest watercraft on Bay Lake, and since the tours take you over near Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, and the Poly, they must do those early in the morning before all of the WDW boating traffic gets really busy.
