As long as they have the tram service, I can't see how this would be successful...

Personally I would pay it, it's WAY easier to walk to the parking lot than wait on the tram. We waited an hour for a tram in January - it was ridiculous.

The speed with which they are rolling this stuff out is breathtaking. Sigh.

Personally I wish they would have just rolled it all out at once because at this point I'm thinking what is next, it's frustrating, just get it all done with so we can move on.

Well, they already have the "Ultra-Preferred Premium Park Entry" (VIP Tours). Maybe they're looking for a product somewhere in between.

Aren't there laws about handicap parking? Like how far away or how many spaces compared to regular spots? I truly don't know for certain the specifics but I would think they couldn't mess with it too much. But then again, what do I know?

I actually like the idea of "premium parking" Most theme parks do charge extra for closer spots. We live in NJ and get season passes every year for Six Flags and season pass parking is included with the season passes. Anyways if we want a closer spot which we usually do we have to pay $10 extra to upgrade our parking. If we didn't have season pass parking for great adventure we would have to pay $25 to park and thats only for regular parking. I believe its like $35ish for premium parking. So in my mind Disney is behind the times with parking fees anyways, LOL

I think they did away with AAA parking in part because you could buy the passes on ebay for like $10....and then resell it when your trip was over, lol. And Disney got zero from that.

Cedar Point is our local park and they charge an additional for premium parking but if you have premium annual pass (or are staying at one of their hotels) you get in an hour early every day and at that point parking spots are open up close so premium parking is never really needed. I understand why people pay it but I'm just too darn cheap.

My local park (Kennywood) has had preferred parking for as long as I can remember (which is a long time ;-). I know because we never parked in it and walked the extra distance.

It's likely the AAA parking that they let go, was so awesome having that. We quit driving to the parks after Diamond Parking went away.

Legoland in CA has charged extra for premium parking for many, many years. This is definitely something Disney is way behind the times on, judging by many responses here about other theme parks doing this.

Just my 2 cents worth (& you probably have change coming):
The past several times we've parked at EPCOT (we are local), they have parked us in the furthest lot an hour before opening. There is no tram that goes by that lot, so at the end of a long day, we have to hike a good long ways while those that got there long after us have the option to take the tram somewhat close to their autos. If we take the tram we still have to walk the width of one entire lot to even get to our lot, and we are usually at the far end of the row. Would I pay for closer parking? Depends on how late I plan to be there and the weather. I doubt I would do it every time, but I would be tempted after 4 or 5 long hikes in the summer heat.

This is why unless we see the tram about to be stopping near us and getting right on, we walk from wherever we park. 9 times out of 10 we beat the tram to the park. Only time we really consider waiting for the tram is if we've parked in the very back of MK

Well, when they pull off all the front spots for premium parking, your odds of being near the back will be higher.

I'll be really curious to see how that goes. I just can't even fathom paying $35 for parking.

On top of the $5 to ride, for an extra $2.50 they will give you priority seating on the tram.

Looks like they will be testing "premium parking" soon. On top of the $20 parking fee, you can pay an additional $15 to get closer parking.

At that price I think savvy guests will just valet at a resort.
