Before I get too upset and call the whole thing off, Can i ask you people a few questions?

Last night we were talking numbers of guests and it turns out, we are going over the max of 18 guests allowed for our Escape wedding by only a couple. Some of you may say "Be glad you can upgrade to a wishes" but thats NOT the way I wanted it to go for various reasons:
price (bear in mind we have a £4k holiday to pay ontop of a our wedding as were from the uk - plus I just dont think i'd get to the minimum spend with how I want the wedding),
room block (not everyone can afford to stay onsite),
picking a meal (I really didnt want to, hence the reason I wanted portobellos because i know everyone likes italian - especially me and the groom),
dessert party on board Grand1 (this defo wont happen as they wont make acceptions and I dont want anyone left out)

My questions are:
1. In the wedding brochure i got, they mention a "Premium Escape Wedding Package is also available" - has anyone heard of this and what is it?
2. Wishes wedding package room block - what is this?
3. Can anyone tell me roughly how much per head a dessert party in Epcot is? and can you have one if you have an Escape Wedding?
4. What actually determins the maximum amount of guests (i'm planning on having the ceremony in the wedding pavillion so space is not an issue.

How strict are disney if you go two or 3 over do you think?

have you thought about doing a swan wedding. its on disney property and is cheaper and doesn't have so many restrictions on numbers

I have thought about it, but i've set my heart on a Disney wedding because I love the wedding pavillion and portobellos to be honest.

But I guess there is no harm looking into it - thanks

i had my heart set on sea breeze point but when it came to finances it just didn't seem worth it as i was planning on adding things to the package.

when i started looking into it i thought it is was close as having a DFTW as it could get!

if definitley worth being open minded

they have a great looking italian at the swan/dolphin - Il Mulinos

Il Mulinos was my no.2 choice for a meal after the ceremony but I wanted portobellos more as I fancy going to downtown disney in my dress (dont know why, just do??? he he)

Im sure you can all understand when you have set your heart on something that you have wanted for so long, anything else would be a dissappointment. Hopefully i'm going to do this only once so I really wanted a DFTW.

But like you said, i'll try to be open minded and will look at the swan

I know you are reading my TR, we changed to a wishes wedding because the money we were spending on an escape we could easily have a wishes wedding. I was happy with this because I love the way the wishes weddings flow like they would at home and they do everything you don't have to worry about anything on the day.

Room block - you have to meet the min room nights to qualify for a wishes wedding.

I think our dessert party was about $1000 in total with the transport, viewing fee etc.

oh my god, thats cheaper than I thought!

Can you put the Park Photo session onto your wishes minimum spend package?

If I remember correctly the Premium Escape package is at the Pavilion, the other locations (SBP, YCG, SP, ST) are Deluxe packages.

I know the room block requirements depend on the number of guests you are having. It can be low (say 25). But it's important to remember that it includes ALL of the nights your guests stay. So if you have say 4 people stay 5 or 6 nights, you've met your room block requirement.

Disney determines the maximum number of guests for an Escape wedding. If you have over 18 they will tell you you have to have a Wishes wedding.

I don't think going to a Wishes would really be all that much more expensive for you! With some of the ammenities and extras you want to add, I'll bet you can keep the Wishes cost to the minimum and still get everything you want! Everything you do on your wedding day counts toward your minimum...so the characters, the dessert parties, everything!

The girls here can give you ideas to keep your costs at the minimum and you can still have all the guests you want!

Don't get upset!! Call your coordinator and talk about your concerns I'm sure they will help you!!

You will all probably laugh at me, but my wedding is at least 3/4 years away at the moment, but i'm a terrible saver and will need at least that to save for any sort of wedding/holiday as big as this, hence my worry about price!

I think I should do that online wish book and price up what I want. Although it doesnt solve the problem about the meal. I really set my heart on Portobellos, although, do you think we could have Italian food made for our wedding meal? or do they give you a few choices to choose from?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: And here I thought you were getting married in a few months!!!:rotfl:

The Wishbook might help some...but the prices are high and it doesn't show ALL the options. But, if you pick what you want and get an idea...at least it's something to shoot for!

I'm sure you can do some Italian style food for a Wishes reception! If not, you might do Portobello for your rehearsal dinner the night before.
