Just wondering if it is worth checking in going home at DTD if you are premium economy - as that is taking time out to go to DTD whereas the que for PE surely is not as long at the airport - does anyone have any views? ;)

We use the Premium Economy queue at DTD , find it very useful.

I do agree that in theory your wait at the airport should not be as long, however for getting rid of the suitcases early for us it is still a must.

Just a word of warning - DTD check-in wasn't operating due to 'system' problems when we were there. We met some very annoyed people who'd paid for a wasted trip in a taxi...and still had all their luggage. I guess it's rare but worth noting. Maybe you can phone first to check it's working ? Personally we just left our bags at the hotel after checking out and checked-in online the day before.

For me we always check in on-line and then when you arrive at the airport its into the bag drop line which is normally relatively short and quick. That said we normally leave our bags at the hotel and collect them just before heading to the airport.

At DTD Premium Economy passengers have their own queue and basically get seen by at next available desk. Lots of annoyed stares from the economy queue :goodvibes

The weather was awful the last time we were leaving so I rang to find out if it was operating and got a not very helpful recorded message saying only didn't work in really bad weather. I drove round to check and thankfully they were there or all our town car tmings would have been out if we had needed to check in at the airport. I would hope they had changed the recorded message for these system problems you mentioned but if they hadn't I think that would have been very poor service.

If we checked in on line - will our disney hotel be able to do that for us?

They should certainly be able to and have done for others in the past

We used DTD check-in without any problems and then went to play at DisneyQuest, a great end to the holiday.

Last year we didn't want to trek to DTD and waste a morning on buses so we just went to the airport before our flight and checked in there. We were economy but had no wait at all. This year will try on-line.
