I am in the process of planing a honeymoon in Disney and am looking into the premium dining plan mainly for all the extras(tours, shows, etc.). When it comes to the dining part of the package there seems to be a bit of confusion with the type of meals that you get. One travel agent I spoke with was about 75% sure the you get 3 full table service meals per day, per person, and another travel agent said that sounded right but wasn't sure because she never had anybody want a premium plan. If anybody has any info/experience with this it would be a big help in making a decision.

Thank you very much!

Yes, the premium plan provides 3 table service meals per night of your stay (important distinction exspecially if you arrive early in the day and leave late).

I believe that you can also use them for counter service if you want, but I don't see why you would want to.

And there is no distinction between 1 and 2 credit meals - on the Premium plan they are all the same.

I don't know about V&A if you can use the plan there.

We typically do the premium dinning plan and you do get 3 TS meals per night of your stay.

We do take advantage of all of the "extras"...it sounds like an awesome honeymoon!

You can use a TS meal at a CS place. We do trade our TS meals for CS meals b/c TS meals are SO SLOW!

We will do a TS breakfast/brunch a TS dinner and if we are hungry inbetween we will usually split a CS meal. You also have the option to use room service if you stay at a deluxe resort.

Enjoy!!!

DonKarnage - I found a PDF file on the main Disney web page that explains the package. I can't post it to a link, but if you go to the site as if you are trying to book a MYW package, you should find it.

HannaBelle - What category seat do you get for the cirque show? I can't figure that out. Thanks!

Do you get a snack with the premium plan? How much more does it cost per person per day adult and child than the ddp? Also does it cover CRT and Hoop Dee Doo? Sorry for all the questions.

Redwitch, I think the seats were category 2. They were excellent seats! The show is a lot of fun, but my parents (both 60+) did not like it very much.

My DD(7) had an absolute blast!

kdkbrebel, you do not get a snack with the premium plan, but you can "burn" a TS meal and just get a drink and fries or bottle water and fruit. You will just have to go to a CS restaurant.

The cost per day for an adult is about a $100 increase. It is a significant increase, but all signature restaurants are 1 TS meal, Hoop De Doo is 1 TS meal, the Spirit of Aloha dinner show is 1 TS meal, CRT, is 1 TS, you get CDS tickets, all kinds of other "extras" and many free tours. We also have done a lot of the Grand Gathering experiences and can use our TS meals for those as well.

For our last trip, we had character breakfasts each morning and special meals each night - Hoop De Doo, Spirit of Aloha, Illuminations dinner for the Grand Gatherings - if we were hungry during the middle of the day, we would all share a couple of CS meals.

This year, we are changing our schedule up a bit. We are going to order 2 room service meals for a light breakfast before we leave the hotel, hit the parks at "rope drop" and then have a brunch/early lunch, rest in the middle of the day (or go horseback riding or check out wave runners, go parasailing!) then have an early dinner and head back to the parks for the rest of the evening.

3 TS meals a day is truly too much food to eat, but you don't HAVE to order everything, much less eat it! The only snack item we bought on our last trip was a Mickey Bar!

:thumbsup2

HannaBelle - Thanks for the info on Cirque. We love the show, saw it twice and are looking forward to the next time.

DD and I have been looking at the premium plan for a future trip and are trying to "cost" it out. Two table services a day suits us, DD is not much of CS fan. (Salmon and filet are her favs!)

DonKarnage - Try this link. About half way down is a brochure.

Its nice to hear from people who love the Premium package like we do. Be sure to take advantage of some the water sports like parasailing and jet skis from the Contemporary. I honestly think my DH spent almost the entire price of the premium add on b/w parasailing (3 trips) and jet skis (4 trips). That stuff is not cheap. We were just on the DDP last week and I really missed those extra TS meals. Maybe it's just me but CS just doesn't feel like vacation (plus I need that extra hour of sitting and relaxing lol). And with the new category seating at HDDR and the Luau its nice to know I can still get category 1 seating.

To the OP - I hope you have a magical honeymoon.

We're trying out the platinum plan for our anniversary trip in Oct - the extra Epcot tours that we want to do plus a massage at the spa made up for the difference in cost. However, I think we'll be back to premium after that.
