Premium Annual Pass

If I understand this correctly, I can buy this pass now (for a gift) and the 365 days will not begin until the voucher is traded in for the actual pass at the park? Is this correct. So for instance, if I bought this for a Christmas present (2005) and the person did not go to WDW until say October 1st of the following year(2006) this pass would be good for an entire year starting on Oct 1 2006(until Sept 30th 2007). Is that correct?

Also, this premium annual pass will allow me to park hop everywhere in Disney including the water parks and DD? I can go to Epcot & MK within the same day?

Just making sure I understand that this is how this pass works. If I am mistaken please correct me or if I am right please I am looking for affirmation!

You are correct about the effective date of the PAP. You can keep the voucher for years before actually getting the PAP and you will have one year from that date to use your PAP. You get unlimited parkhopping to the four major theme parks and unlimited visits to Pleasure Island and Disney Quest at DD [the rest of DD does not require a ticket]. You also get unlimited visits to the two water parks. If the person you are getting this ticket for will not be doing the water parks, Disney Quest, and Pleasure Island a lot you might want to look at the regular AP, which gives unlimited visits w/park hopping to the 4 main theme parks only and a discount for purchase of individual tickets for the water parks, PI, and DQ. Both AP and PAP also give you discounts on meals and purchases at the World of Disney store in DD. You can also get a Disney Dining Experience card, which gives you a better food discount, with both the AP and PAP.

Just kidding, the year starts when the voucher is exchanged. We bought ours in June last year and didn't exchange them until August. I am waiting for the last minute to renew ( more charges on my Visa ).

The PAP is good to park hop ( as well as the ap) and the water parks and PI. So you should be all set!!

I am an AP holder and am thinking about buying PAP next time around. Do you get any more discounts with a PAP versus the AP? I saw on Different Disneyland sites that there are better discounts for PAP holders. I am very happy with my discounts but am just wondering.
