So, our annual pass expired, but we plan to get a new one w/the dvc discount next aug for our trip. We'll use it twice..2010, and 2011, both for 8 days. I'm debating whether or not we should get a premium annual pass. We are for sure going in our 2010 trip 1 day to the waterpark. No plans for disney quest. Figuring out the prices, we'd have to use it for at least 2 waterpark days to get our moneys worth, which will probably happen because most likely we'll go to the waterpark in 2011 also. Do you think its worth the extra almost $400 to make it a premium AP though? My logic is, if we end up wanting to do something different, we could alway go to disneyquest, or spend more time at the waterparks with it. What do you think?

We usually get the PAP instead of the AP because we try to go to the waterparks (TL is our favorite) every day when we are there. And we also go to Disney Quest at least once or twice on a trip (my husband and son went there several times at night on our last trip). One or two water parks, I don't think it's worth it.

We have only had PAP and find it to be very cost effective. We usually do at least 1 water park and we go to DQ often as well. For us, it's been worth the extra $$ because it would have cost us more OOP. It also leaves us the option is we want a break day or something to do in the evening.

We downsized our PAP to a regular ol' AP for the first time this year. We'll probably go to one waterpark and make one trip to DisneyQuest during our WDW visits this year, and without Pleasure Island anymore (we were big Adventurer's Club fans) it was more cost effective for us to get the AP and then just buy the discounted water park or DQ tickets as we wanted to go. It was hard...had Premiums for years, but the loss of Pleasure Island was the turning point for us.

We also downsized our PAP to a AP this year.
The reason?? Disney closed THEE most highly themed, interactive, most well thought out attraction the imagineers ever created. This attraction required some sort of "extra" on your ticket. We chose the PAP, as that covered it for the year.

The attraction? Oh yes, for those of you who already know, I give a hearty KUNGALOOSH! :drinking1
For those who don't, I'm truly sorry you missed it...

I will add that when I say we go to the waterparks nearly every day in the summer, it may only be for two or three hours. We're usually gone before noon when the rest of the world starts to arrive.

You could go ahead and get an AP then, later on, upgrade to a PAP. The cost would be prorated based on the remaining time left on the AP.

Hmmm ... I didn't think they did that. I am sure that I tried to upgrade to a PAP once and was told I had to pay the full difference in price.

Hmmmm. . . It's been a while since we did that. It was the policy a few years back. All policies are subject to change without notice. It wouldn't hurt to call just to verify first.

I remember many years ago that people reported being able to upgrade at a pro-rated price but I tried one summer a few years ago and was told I had to pay the full difference. I know I was pretty disappointed that the pro-rated thing didn't work out for me.

I went ahead and called WDW Ticketing and unfortunately you are correct. If you start with the AP and decide to upgrade you will have to pay the difference between the full price of the AP and PAP. I'm obviously having troube with the space/time continuum.

The PAP isn't worth it to us, particularly not now, as some people have mentioned, that the Adventurer's Club is gone. The closing of Pleasure Island really decreased the value of the PAP, IMHO, and as a non-golfer, I don't care about the addition of golf. We don't use the waterparks more than once a trip, and we like DQ, but it isn't good for DS yet. I am not sure we'll ever get the PAP/"Parks and More" option ever again, or at least not until the offerings shift again.
