Hi there. Walt Disneyworld Pro here. Headed back to Disneyland for my first trip since 2007. I had never considered getting an AP for either park, but with the possibility of 4 Disney trips this year, the Premier pass would be a good choice for me. The deciding factor is whether or not, and what type of discount you get at the Disneyland Resort hotels for having one. We will be there from May 8th - May 12th if that makes a difference. What are the standard hotel discounts for a week night? The cast member on the phone said it is usually 10%. I'm hoping she is wrong and that it is more like 30%.

You can sometimes get 15% - 30%. There's really no "schedule" of discounts, much like WDW. They are released fairly regularly, however, so you'll end up getting *something*.

Also remember that with the Premiere, you'll get 15% off on dining in a lot of the DLR restaurants (including CS), which is a big deal. No charge, unlike WDW's TiW card. So there's an added benefit there. You can compare discounts here. And read about the Premiere Passport here.

Depending on your travel dates you may want to go with the Deluxe AP instead of the Premium. When I weighed the benefits and added cost I found the Deluxe was perfect for our family.

The title should read PREMIER not PREMIUM since the OP is talking about the 2 park AP (WDW and DLR).
