Premier Passport FP+ Question

I've tried searching but couldn't find the question that I'm looking for, and I thought about calling Disney but I know phone CMs can sometimes give out false information. So, I'm hoping someone here has experienced this.

We plan on purchasing premier passports at Disneyland in June, and will be visiting Disney World in October. I've read that their systems don't link up, and that can cause an issue.

Will I be able to link up my premier passport that I purchased at Disneyland (and linked to their website) to my Disney World account so that I can make my FP+ reservations 60 days in advance since we are staying on site? Or do I have to wait until we get there and activate them?

Any help/insight is greatly appreciated! This is the last deciding factor on whether or not to get the premier passport.

4 years ago we did just the opposite of what you're describing. We bought the Premier AP at WDW and used it. Then we went to DLR and guess what? It wouldn't work at the front gate. For us, DLR was on legacy paper FP so they gave us a few "use anytime" FP for our inconvenience each morning trying to get in the gate, and we weren't out picking FP in advance. I was not happy that Disney sold me a ticket to 2 park campuses that could not be read by both campuses. I was also unhappy that the issue had not been fixed when encountered by previous ticket buyers. Why would it seem that I was the first to encounter an issue? DLR management made phone calls to get my tickets fixed in about 3 days. Sorry I can't give you warm fuzzies that it will work flawlessly for you, but I can't. I would enter the ticket number on back into the MDE app and if it doesn't take, immediately call and wait and transfer to whomever it takes to get it linked online for both parks.

We had the Premier Passport twice, and I never had an issue with FP+ if I bought first at DL then linking it to my MDE and booking FP+ for WDW, it was a couple years ago, so I may have had to call Disney IT, but I know that by the time I had to book them online I had no issues booking FP+ reservations 60 days in advance as long as we were staying onsite. I would not do the Premier Passport again because it isn't economical for me as a DVC member, as the Gold AP is a great cost savings for us at WDW and covers all of our dates, but also because DH and I had a lot of random issues with it, and spent way too much time at the DL ticket booths as a result. The two systems do not work well together at all, and you also have to renew in person, which is fine if you are going to DL first, but if you are going to WDW first you can't renew in advance at the Premier level (or at least couldn't when we had it) so you have to renew at a lower level to get the FP+ bookings, then upgrade, and if you happen to have an unexpected DL trip come up while you have a voucher for a WDW AP, it is a bit of a nightmare to get DL to be able to convert that to a Premier Passport (I did get a couple any attraction FP from the CMs for the time and effort it took though, not sure it was worth standing out in the hot sun at the DL ticket booth though). My husband had even more issues with his, always at DL, a CM actually started to cry when she saw his pass, because she said that they are horrible and do not work well with their system, and she knew it would crash her terminal. More than once his didn't work for whatever reason (even though it had worked before) and he was given more than one random set of tickets and a card to use for AP benefits while they escalated to the IT department, which usually took a couple days to work out. For us, unless it is a significant savings, we would not do it again, unless we were sure the systems were able to work well together, that said, I have heard of others who have had no issues with their Premier Passports so maybe we are extremely unlucky.

Yes! As soon as we upgrade our passes in June, I plan on trying to link it with MDE and maybe try to make a fake FP+ reservation for 30 days out and see if it works. Thank you for your feedback, I'm so worried that it's going to be a nightmare making it all work. :(

Thank you for your feedback! You've given me a little peace of mind. We only plan on having our passes for one year, we will be doing primarily Disneyland (two day once a month visits) and plan on spending two weeks at Walt Disney World. I'll keep my fingers crossed that we don't have any issues!
