looking at getting Premier passes for DW. have a few questions though.

When you make your resort reservation do you have to have your pass to get the discount?
how long do you have after you make reservations at a resort to buy a pass and get the passholders discount?

what is the discount rate for Beach club?

can you buy season pass for DL and up grade to premier DW? and where?

We had Premiers a few years ago. WDW discounts will be the same as WDW Platinums, and DLR discounts will be equal to whatever their top scale pass is these days. When we pulled it out for discounts cast members really had no clue what it was, as at the time it was a glittery platinum looking credit card. Didn't resemble a Disney tix.

Last time we bought them they were... $800 ??? What are they now, like $1600 ???

If you buy your Premier Pass at DL, you won't be taxed.

If you're starting out at DL, you may as well buy your Premier pass there.

Moving this to the Resort Board so you can receive answers to your resort questions.

Although Disneyland doesn't charge local sales tax on Disneyland-specific ticket media, Disneyland does charge Orlando sales tax on Premier Passes. So they'll be the exact same price whether you buy them in Anaheim or Orlando. This surprised us when we bridged up to Premiers at DL in 2013, but the guest services CM explained it to us.

That's what I thought as well, or at least a portion thereof. Not sure it was always that way though.

Just curious...Why was this moved to the resort board??

I think it's the full amount. In 2013 I did the math on the full mount and the tax came out to 6.5% which I think is Orlando sales tax on tickets.

Agreed with the concept that you'll be taxed on the WDW portion and not taxed on the DLR portion, no matter where you buy it.

Thank you for explaining! I had read that on a runDisney thread and thought it was a great tip. Too good to be true! :)
