I'm guessing we're talking about off-site cruise parking in Miami? You don't make that clear at all, so I'm guessing and if I'm wrong, ignore all that follows. If I'm right ....
1. I've many a cruise out of many a port but for now let's focus on Miami and Port Canaveral ....
DCL ports.
2. I like the convenience of parking at the port ... close to the ship, hit the road fast on the return .... but the cost hurts today .... the daily price is silly.
3. I started using off site parking in Canaveral and LOVE it. 1/2 the cost, the shuttle service is great ... if the cruise is more than 3 days I do off site . . .
4. I lived in Miami for over 10 years . . . . .
5. On a recent cruise leaving from Miami I decided to try an off-site. When I got to the location I realized when I worked downtown I would have NEVER parked my car in the location for one day, much less a week. Had I not pre-paid I would have left and gone to the port .... but I persevered.
6. The lot operation was horrible .... the shuttle to the ship late and over crowded and no place to wait .... we were standing in the middle of a gravel parking lot ... no shade and no organization .... Miami heat. The guy in charge has a lawn chair and a clip board.
7. On the return, I followed the provided instructions to the letter .... and waited an hour for a shuttle which then overloaded the vehicle with others as unhappy as me but afraid to wait for the 'next one'
8. All this time looking longingly across the road at the terminal parking with all those cars ready for me to leave immediately . . . while I waited and wondered if my car was stolen or vandalized . . .
9. IF I cruise from Miami again, I'll park at the terminal. WHEN I cruise out of Canaveral again, I'll park off-site.
P.S. Tampa I'm a terminal fan too
