Here is our preliminary itinerary for our short trip! It is me, DH, DS 6 and DS 18mos. That's why I've tried to build in a nap time every day, but he's pretty good about a nap in the stoller too. DH wants to do US and IOA, so with this itinerary, we'll be able to save 2 days of our 4day passes for next trip!

10/30 arrival late evening

10/31 (Happy Bday to me!)
Breakfast at Chef Mickeys
Animal Kingdom
Lunch at Rainforest Cafe
Pools and Naps at Hotel (offsite)
Dinner at Hotel
MGM Fantasmic OR DTD OR Boardwalk OR miraculously obtain MNSSHP tickets.

11/1
Breakfast at CP
Lunch at Pecos Bills (perhaps early lunch)
MK most all day
Nap at hotel
Dinner at Hotel
Return to MK for Wishes

11/2
Breakfast at Hotel or nearby
IOA
Lunch at ??? suggestions?
Nap at hotel
Dinner at Nascar Cafe
IOA some more (have to check hours)???

11/3
Breakfast at Hotel or nearby
US
Lunch at Classic Monster Cafe
US or IOA some more
Dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise (DS6 is a parrothead!!!)

11/4
Breakfast at Hotel or nearby
DTD for little shopping
Early afternoon flight home! BOOO HOOO!

So, what do you all think. We can't do it all this trip, so we're leaving out Epcot, waterparks etc. We're trying not to overdo with the toddler!

I'd appreciate any comments you all can give me!

Maybe skip the nap on 10/31 and spend time at MGM. Your toddler can sleep while checking out some shows (Indy Jones, Star Tours, Millionaire etc...). Playhouse Disney - DS6 is at that age when he might think it's too babyish but your 1 1/2 year old will love it. Of course, if it's too hot, nothing better than relaxing in the pool.

11/1. Any desire to see Spectromagic. I haven't been to US or IOA, but it looks like you have a good plan. Have a good trip.:earsboy:

We're eating breakfast at Bomas on our AK day, but I know that Chef Mickey's is a totally different experience.

On the MK day I would have a bite to eat in the room and then get a late sitting at CP for breakfast. That way you could do Fantasyland before it's too crowded.

I'm assuming that you're not going to any parks on the early entry day since they would be busy by the time you would get it.

A lot of people love Mythos at IoA if you are looking for a sitdown restaurant.

If you drink make sure you have a margarita at Margaritaville. I've had the upper-end ones (forgot what it's called) a few times and they are the best!

I think that for such a short trip I would let your toddler nap in the stroller, especially since you said he will do that. Of course you don't want to burn any of you out and your Universal days will be full days.

Have fun and start planning your next trip!

Thanks. I'll definitely add Spectromagic! I'm hoping the baby (not a baby anymore!) will give us the flexibility to go to MGM in the mid-late afternoon.

Thanks for the tips!

I was looking for a character breakfast for 2 days and haven't read much positive stuff about Donald's in AK. Is Bomas a character place?

I'll try to get a late ps for CP, but I'm afraid I won't have too many choices of times at this late time.

I'm pretty sure we're missing the EE days. Didn't seem wise considering we're offsite this time.

I will toast you with my margarita! Topshelf it is! (Need to edit post with wrong name. Bad info from DH)

We're hoping for decent stroller naps. DS can be a bear if he doesn't sleep, though.

DH thinks that after all this is planned out, I'll drop these boards like a hot potato. Little does he know how addictive it can be. Question is, when to go next?

Thanks much!

No, Bomas is not a character breakfast.

I bet that you won't have trouble getting a late PS for CP. Many people don't think through things such as when to go to Fantasyland and schedule breakfast when they'd normally want to eat. We're not big early breakfast eaters and like a snack (Nutrigrain bar, etc) first thing, maybe a snack in the park, and then a later breakfast, which doubles as lunch. Of course if you are early risers you might be able to get an early CP time (I don't know what time the first PS's are) and be done by the time the park opens. Problem with that is that breakfast could take longer than what you think.

Even if a person doesn't plan any other parks, I think that MK needs a plan even if going a medium crowd time. I've gone to WDW several times during slow times and Fantasyland is always busy by late morning. This was even true the late Jan after 9/11, when the other parks were walk-on.

Those margaritas are good enough that I was even thinking about making a special trip over to City Walk just to have one.

I bet that Nov will be a nice time of the year--warm enough, but not the heat that we will have next week.
