Pregnant woman in a BIKINI at Sesame Place today..

Wouldn't have bothered me, but no, I personally wouldn't wear one (not even without being pregnant!)

I, too, was at a water park yesterday.

Here are some things I saw:

cellulite of all kinds, both on large and small women and men

men in teeny speedos

well endowed women in maillot type swimsuits with no supprt (shelf bra, underwire, etc.)

women in thongs

men with thick carpeting of hair on their backs

extremely obese people in skimpy, unsupportive swimwear


kids allowed to run around naked

very young girls (ages 8-14 or so) in teeny bikinis, some on very well endowed girls (too many hormones in chicken these days, I swear!)

a woman in a long sleeved shirt and capri pants swimming in the wave pool

men with severe gynecomastia

and the one that really really really bothered me:

4 teenage girls (maybe ages 13-14) being obnoxious in the park- sneaking in beer, one talking loudly on her cell phone to her boyfriend the entire time on line for a ride, all in teeny bikinis - one was pregnant. Seeing such a young girl pregnant and acting with such little regard for the world around her really upset me.

Some of the other things caused me to look twice or to giggle or to wonder to myself,but they didn't really get to me.

I'm with you on all your points, especially the last one. A pregnant woman in a bikini - not so much a worry of mine. Been there, done that, would do it again. Well, maybe not again as I've had 2 already and things aren't exactly where they used to be.

But then again, I have a tatoo too

During all of my pregnancies (many moons ago) it was always "the rule" to cover up. I must admit I was taken by surprise when starting to see pregnant women in tight shirts, bikinis and so on. MY OPINION? I ONLY WISH THAT WAS THE "STYLE" WHEN I WAS PREGNANT!!

I did and still would.
I was pregnant in 2002, with a July baby, I had 2 other boys ages 2 and 4. We spent alot of time at the beach. I wore a bikini bottom and a stretch tank top for swimming. It showed a bit of belly, I too never had a single stretch mark. Currently pregnant with #4 and I hope my good fortune continues......

Lol! FTR, sometimes a bikini *is* the only bathing suit or swim attire a pregnant woman can fit into...it's easier to fit the waistband underneath the belly than over it.
BTDT - I went from a size 2-4 (XS) to a size 18+ (XXL) during my twin pregnancy, and I very quickly grew out of any kind of one-piece bathng suit

Absolutely! I think it's great! Being pregnant is part of the "circle of life" and why hide it? It's not like she was playing a video of HOW she got that way on the belly.

stahshee, congrats - four girls - how awesome is that! I always thought 4 girls would be wonderful. You could do a mini production of little women!

I actually liked and didn't mind my pregnant belly this summer- it is now 5 weeks later and there is no way I'd want anyone seeing it now! I had a maternity 2 piece but it covered most of my belly. My thighs, however, are a different story.....I'd put on a wetsuit to hide them if I could!

I would much rather see a pregnant woman that's healthy and in nice shape as opposed to some of the things I see at the pool on a daily basis! I see very heavy women in bikinis all the time and the tatoos........YUCK!!! Those tatoos are much more offensive than any pregnant belly would be! Pregnancy is a BEAUTIFUL thing and it should be celebrated not hidden away shamefully! I say if you've got the body and the guts.....GO FOR IT!

I think pregnant bellies are great! I also think it is a serious double standard when men can walk around all summer without a shirt if they want to (no matter what kind of shape they are in) but women are expected to hide their pregnant bellies, and even worse are shunned for breastfeeding in public! Why can men show their nipples whenever they see fit, but a woman can't feed her child in public?!?

i am pregnant 5months and i would wear a bikini...i think it's cute when i see women doing the same and so does my husband..it's sexy in a wierd way...the funny thing is i would NEVER wear one before or after pregnancy...crazy huh??

I don't think it's crazy at all. Since I don't have a washboard stomach, I might as well wear a bikini when pregnant since I have an excuse for the belly! LOL! (FTR, I was big and pregnant in the winter so I didn't wear a bathing suit so I can't say for sure what I would have done.)
