Pregnant Cast Members?

.....if they are characters! I'm sure they have to rotate visibly pregnant characters - who aren't normally in the business of reproducing, but I've seen oodles of other pregnant CMs in retail, on attractions, etc. I can see it now with the characters....."Mommy, I didn't know that Belle was having a baby! Did she already marry Beast?" :rotfl:
i think thats against the law in most states.;)

Despite all the other posters sightings of preggers CM's, I have never seen one. I kindaa feel left out of the loop. haha.

I'm surprised at the pregnant Lilo pic. I guess her bump isn't really that obvious?

Seems like someone posted a picture of a pregnant Jasmine once.

Anyhow...it seems like it would be in the CM's best interest to not be a 'character's friend' if they were pregnant. Think of how many kids run full speed to hug them. Way too much risk of them getting hit in the belly, besides ruining the Disney illusion.

I just asked DH and DS if they have ever seen a pregnant CM and none of us have. We have been to WDW 7 times in the past 3 years so we have seen LOTS of CMs. But what's funny is that it never occurred to me that we hadn't seen one until this thread!:rotfl2:

Let me go back into my subscriptions, but someone posted one of a visibly pregnant Jasmine a while back.

Hmmm.... thinking back to all our trips I don't ever remember seeing a pregnant cast member, but then again I was never looking for one.

I can say that when I used the various nursing rooms I did see a few cast members pumping, so I would assume they worked there before they had their babies.

I'll be there in a few weeks. I'll be on the lookout for pregnant CMs. I'll report back at the end of April.

I'm the one that posted the picture of the pregnant Lilo. It was so hard to get a picture of her, but it was obvious that she was pregnant. She kept putting her hand on her belly and she just "looked" pregnant.

Personally, I think being pregnant is perfect for the Lilo costume.

I had a very pregnant skipper of a friendship boat from Epcot to the Yacht Club. She was very sweet.

We saw a pregnant cast member at Soarin' on our 2014 trip. She wore a different uniform than the other cast members, it looked quite a bit more comfy.

1) No-facial hair for men is considered part of the costume.
2) Pregnancy is different.
3) It is considered a disability and a person can't be treated differently.

NOTE: If someone cannot complete their assigned duties due to pregnancy, they can be transferred or laid-off, but there are few jobs at WDW that can't be performed while pregnant.

Pregnancy is not considered a disability - but it is considered a protected condition, under gender equality acts. If someone were to get laid off due to a pregnancy, that employee would have a great case for a lawsuit. We've come a long way in this country (but obviously not far enough) in getting working equality for females.

Another one ......... I wish we could stop these.

Anyway I see pregnant cast members all the time and if you read back to the older posts, my how things have changed. The no facial hair on men rule is now relaxed. Still some rules but hair is allowed within those rules. I even saw a male CM at one of the parks last year with a pony tale and hair halfway down his back! That was a shock. Tattoos still must be covered but so have been visible last few years it was surprising. Even had Gaston lean forward and a chest tattoo was visible.

I still do appreciate the Disney look and hope they maintain it as much as they can.

Someone posted a photo of a pregnant looking Lilo in the "Prove Me Wrong" thread and I realized I hadn't seen a pregnant Cast Member at Disney.

I know Disney is strict about appearances (no facial hair for men, etc.) limits on piercings, tattoos, etc.

Is this by design or coincidence? Could they legally terminate or suspend an employee due to being pregnant?

Obviously they don't want a Cinderella or Snow White with a big ol' baby bump,--wouldn't THAT make for some conversation.... :)
But, what about retail and resort workers?
One of the girls cleaning up tables at bog was very very pregnant. My mom was talking with her about when she was due and how she feels. She was really nice. She was due very very soon.

Omg did I just read that pregnancy is considered a disability and you can be laid off for getting pregnant? I realize this thread is from 2008, but that surely wasn't the dark ages!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
