Someone posted a photo of a pregnant looking Lilo in the "Prove Me Wrong" thread and I realized I hadn't seen a pregnant Cast Member at Disney.

I know Disney is strict about appearances (no facial hair for men, etc.) limits on piercings, tattoos, etc.

Is this by design or coincidence? Could they legally terminate or suspend an employee due to being pregnant?

Obviously they don't want a Cinderella or Snow White with a big ol' baby bump,--wouldn't THAT make for some conversation.... :)
But, what about retail and resort workers?

I have seen quite a few pregnant cast members. I myself was pregnant (and am an attractions CM) and worked right up until a few weeks before my daughter was born. It would be considered discrimination to terminate someone due to pregnancy. As for the friends of certain characters I'm sure they'd be placed in a different role when necessary.

I don't think Disney would be stupid enough to fire someone for being pregnant. If they were, they should consult Aaron Spelling about it(if he was still alive!!)

I imagine that they have to find a different position for them during the time they are showing but I doubt they would actually get away with firing someone because they became pregnant.

Pregnancy is no problem at WDW for CM's. In fact, many areas have costumes designed specifically for 'peppermint' CM's.

.....if they are characters! I'm sure they have to rotate visibly pregnant characters - who aren't normally in the business of reproducing, but I've seen oodles of other pregnant CMs in retail, on attractions, etc. I can see it now with the characters....."Mommy, I didn't know that Belle was having a baby! Did she already marry Beast?" :rotfl:

I have a picture of my cousin and i (who is a manager at plenty of shops at DW [won't say which]) when she was pregnant, and she works at Disney. I don't know if you mean that have a costume on or just any CM, but i don't see a problem with any CM... however i guess they might rotate if "snow white" is pregnant, but it seems like they don't... sounds interesting.

Well yes I meant only the characters :rotfl:.

There are definitely pregnant CMs. I have worked with them.

Now I want to see the picture of the pregnant Lilo. I found the thread but I don't really want to look at all 100 pages trying to find it. Can you tell me what page it is on?

Same here! If you could please tell us what page the pregnant Lilo is on, that would be great!

Do waitresses count as CMs? If so, then our waitress at Tony's was pregnant. She was lovely and extremely sweet.

1) No-facial hair for men is considered part of the costume.
2) Pregnancy is different.
3) It is considered a disability and a person can't be treated differently.

NOTE: If someone cannot complete their assigned duties due to pregnancy, they can be transferred or laid-off, but there are few jobs at WDW that can't be performed while pregnant.

i was looking for pregnant cms last time i was there...and sadly, i found none...im sure they must exist though

Well she does look a little pregnant but isn't the Lilo character a little rotund anyway? I mean, couldn't it have been part of her costume? And to return to the thread topic, I don't think I've ever seen a pregnant CM, not in a shop or operating a ride or anywhere. Of course I could have seen a pregnant Cm, in that she was pregnant but I may not have known. So I guess the better way to respond is to say that I have never seen a visibly pregnant CM.
