Well, DH and I just found out last week that we are expecting our 3rd child! We have an adults only trip scheduled in January to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary as well as my birthday. I will be about 4 months along at the time of our trip. Please tell me your experiences with being pregnant at Disney. What could you do, what couldn't you do?

Thank you!!

Trish

I went in early May 2002 when I was about four months pregnant. I did fine. I don't ride thrill rides, but there are so many other things I love to do that I can honestly say my trip wouldn't have been any different if I wasn't pregnant.

I see you're going in January and that's great. When we went it was hot and that did get to me. We went last March and I loved the cooler weather. I felt that I had more energy all day and the kids were in better moods.

Just pace yourself and avoid rides that might be dangerous to you. Have fun and congratulations!

I went two years ago at the almost two month mark when I was just starting morning sickness. I had to take it pretty slow and definately watch what I rode. The great thing about Disney though, is it's so much more than rides. As long as you feel okay, you should do fine. Even not feeling good, I did okay. If you're staying onsite be sure to take advantage of that and rest if you need it.

Congratulations!! I was at WDW when I was about 6 months pregnant with my first. I didn't ride any of the rollercoasters, and I ordered chicken rather than prime rib at King Stefan's (beef cooked above medium rare is a dreadful thing), but otherwise felt fine and didn't change my park plans. Make sure you get plenty to drink and that you eat regularly and rest whenever you feel like you should, and I'm sure you'll have a blast!!

Although I can't say I've been at WDW pregnant, so I have no advice to offer, just wanted to offer my congratulations! As all others have stated though, Disney is so diverse that you'll have a great time anyway!

I was at WDW 6 yrs. ago when I was about 3 months pregnant. If the ride had a warning to pregnant women I didn't ride it. The only one with a warning I rode was Kilamajaro Safaris and that's because it was the first time we were at AK and I was determined to ride it. I guess everyones' bodies are different and you need to make your own decision on how you feel. I think some rides would be okay.
Congrats and have fun!! I'll also be there Jan. 5-13th and my birthday is Jan. 10th. Happy birthday too and Happy Anniversary!!

Lori

You can still do plenty!!! DEFINATELY schedule a pedicure at least once during your trip. My feet is what really felt it at 6 months along. Also don't miss out on a Pineapple Float at Aloha Isle at the Magic Kingdom. My rules were: If you are tired sit down, If you are hungry eat, and when you are tired Sleep! Have an awesome anniversary and congratluations. :earsboy:

I went to Disney when I was about 5 months pregnant and it was fine. Some rides post that pregnant women should not ride, all the others I went on. We went in July so I was miserable because of the heat. You will be fine in January. Congats on the new baby!! :cheer2:

My first trip to WDW I was 3 1/2 mo along w/ #3 ( who will be having bday #11 in 2 weeks), all I can really remember is getting dehydrated very easily, it was the end of may and very warm and humid!
I was sick only once and that was all my own fault: I was so thirsty that when we finally sat down to dinner I was drinking the soda and water as fast as the server could get to it. I drank so much so fast the nasuea hit me fast and hard. Also there are a few pics of me that my darling hubby felt he had to capture showing how incredibly tired I was :crazy2:

So advice:
keep yourself hydrated at all costs (extra bathroom breaks!)
take it easy and avoid really long days, you need to get enough rest!
Eat right, junk food can be awfully tempting, but remember you need good nutrition to keep healthy.
Use common sense when it comes to rides, they'll be there next time.
don't let hubby have the camera later in the day when you're looking exhausted (and probably feeling it too!)

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time :sunny:
