Hello everyone. I'm going to be about 20 weeks pregnant when we go to Disneyworld in May, and I was wondering what sort of tips you all may have for me. What rides can I go on? What should I avoid? This will be my 3 year old DD first trip to Disney and I want to make it as magical as possible for her.

Drinking plenty of water and go back to the botel and rest. The rides will have signs saying if you should go on not. Also try going on disneyworlds website and see what rides you can go on and print it out

Most of the things that a 3 yr old can ride, you probably can too. If it has a sign about no pregnant women, then if your husband is going with you too, have him take her on the ride, and find a nice place to sit, relax and have something to drink or snack! I loved the time that I went pregnant.

You go girl! I went when I was about 15 weeks pregnant and we had a great time. A few things I found:

Because you are traveling with a 3 year old - you may want to look into renting a car. For my trip coming up in May I got a rental car for $17 per day...granted we are traveling with a 1 year old, but with you being pregnant and traveling with a 3 year old, it may be more handy than you think.

Have bottled water shipped to your resort or pick up a case at a local grocery store. Throw a couple bottles in the freezer overnight and have cold water all day. Disney bottled water is EXTREMELY expensive. However, if you decide not to do this, you can always get a glass of ice water for free at any snack location...however some people thing Florida water tastes funny.

Take an afternoon break. Not sure if you are over the tired portion of pregnancy...I'm assuming not. I am sure that an afternoon nap would be the saving grace for both yourself and your 3 year old. You will all wake up fresh and have a much better time in the afternoon.

Have a wonderful time and make sure you take good care of yourself.

I went at 23 weeks with dd -

Make sure you keep up with your water intake

Consider taking a stroller for your dd, if you weren't already doing so. Having "handles" to hold onto and a small basket for my water bottle/bag were life saving for me!

Ditto pp's - any rides your dd can go on, you can go on!

Adhere to the "no preggos" signs. However, I did go on Splash Mountain. I would not have done so in my early pregnancy weeks, but I talked to my OB (friend of mine and fellow Disney lover) and she agreed that it's so mild that it wouldn't be an issue at my stage of the game. All other no preggos signs were minded though!

ETA - I also did the safari in AK...
Have fun!

Drink plenty of water and keep your feet up as much as possible. Also, stay away from salty foods. My feet swelled up so big I had to get a wheelchair the remaining two days. Use your judgement on rides. The safari in Animal Kingdom says not to ride if your pregnant, but I still did.

We went in December and my daughter was 20 wks preg. with twins. We took it slow and followed the list of what not to ride. However, we did do the safari ride and I was sorry afterwards. It was rougher than I remembered. We still had a great time.

My wife was pregnant with our DD on one of our trips and our DS was almost 3. She drank plenty of water and took naps with our DS. We also slowed our pace down and took our time in the parks.

You can do anything that the 3 year olds can do.

We just got back in March and my sister was 20 wks preg. and did fine. We did go back to the room a couple of days and nap. We also slept late a couple of days but both of these things we all needed. :rotfl: We did take extra breaks and snack time. She did research on the rides to find out what was not recommended for preg women. Her OB loves WDW and did tell her that the Safari ride would be ok but once she got on it was a lot bumpier than we remembered. But she did great. All in all it was a fantastic trip she was tried and did get a cold from my DS but we were all tried.:rotfl:
