Pregnant again in less than a year.

For instance, if someone says "Gosh, it must be so hard having two kids in diapers," she'll just look at them and say "Uh, nooo, it's not" and just kind of look at them in a way that makes them feel silly for asking.
That sounds really defensive to me. It might also go towards telling the person that it really IS super difficult to have two kids so close in age if the mother is geting snotty about an innocuous comment. It's my guess that most people who make comments are trying to be sympathetic to the difficulties and are not trying to be jerks.

My middle 2 children are like 10 1/2 months apart in age. One was born on Jan. 26 and the other was born on Dec. 10. Boy, was that a shocker when I foun out I was pregnant the 3rd time, LOL! My youngest daughter was 1 1/2 when my youngest child was born. I got some REALLY strange looks at the grocery store! I had a 4 year old, 2 year old, 1 year old and a new born. All of my DC look younger than they are also so alot of people have asked me if my older 3 were triplets. I'm like uh' no God didn't bless me that much! LOL! Had to be pregnant 4 times. My ex also left me when I was pregnant with child #3 so I didn't have a whole lotta help but I didn't find it to hard taking 2 infants and a toddler to the grocery store-:rotfl2: :lmao: .:rolleyes1 Good Lord I am glad that I found my DH!

My 9 and 11 year olds are the same height, and my 5, 5, and 6 year olds are the same height, so people think we have a set of twins, and a set of triplets! :scared1: Strangers ask me questions all of the time, and most are nice!

I have 4 kids, 3 boys, 17, 11 and 9, and 1 girl, 8. I had 3 that were 3 and under that first year after my daughter was born, plus one in school that needed to be driven places and played sports etc...I survived just fine and you will too:) !! The one thing I can say is that the house was ALWAYS messy during those first couple of years, but then they got older, and it was a little easier to keep up with laundry and stuff...now they're all messy as teenagers and tweens and the house is messy again!!!! But the last 3 that are so close together are really good friends as well, it's great. The oldest who is 5 years older than the second, almost 9 years older than the last, is very protective of them and really looks out for his younger siblings. I would do it again in a heartbeat...they were great (tiring) but great years...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

I always thought that irish twins were born less than a year apart. My sister's kids are 11 months apart - she thinks that's harder than real twins, but it's not! :thumbsup2

My family and friends call mine Irish twins as well as anyone that knows us. :) They are only one grade apart in pre-school (one is in the 3s class, one in the 4s). It's quite interesting. It sounds like your sister has her hands full, also.

My Dad was born on June 27, 1956
His sister was born on June 28, 1957

I have twins and twins have been difficult, for me at least. It took me a while to get a system in place. OP, it sounds like you have a lot of support, I did not. I think that will make all the difference in the world. I really had no one to help and I struggled for a long time. The twins are now 3 1/2 and my oldest is 6 and I finally feel like I am starting to take control back in my life. I can finally get around to places, etc...... I don't think it takes everyone this long, and my DS is autistic spectrum, so his issues do add to it. It is definitely an adjustment but there have also been a lot of happy moments along the way too. I have fond memories of when I finally figured out how to nurse both twins at once- it was really nice to snuggle on the couch with both of them for 20 minutes at a time. :goodvibes Apparently it was also quite a sight to behold- I lost a lot of inhibition when the twins came around. MIL is *still* fascinated that I could nurse them both at once :rotfl:

when the kids were little and I got diaper comments, hands full comments, I could never do that comments, I usually responded "Kids are blessings" and left it at that. Although some days those blessings are harder to manage than other days:rotfl:

Of course, when they were wrangling out of the shopping cart, grumpy or misbehaving it was harder to say that:)
