Just got the faintest of lines on my pregnancy test. We leave for Disney tomorrow morning and I really want to find a special way to surprise my husband while we are there. I wish I had more time to plan, but I don't. I will be testing again just to double-check, but with the nausea I have, I don't have much doubt!;) So, I have to post this while I still have a minute to myself.

I know all you fellow Disney freaks can help me come up with something very special!!! Please help me make this a special moment for him......

How about making a cute sign on your computer and printing it out. Then taking it one of your character meals and ask the CM for the character to hold up the sign when they come by your table to greet you. DH would see the sign and know the "news!" I bet that most characters would be willing to do that....I'm sure others on here have had experience in this department. I am looking forward to other ideas! ;) CONGRATS!

I just wanted to say congrats...and whatever way you tell him, it will be great! Best wishes to you and your new arrival!!

As a husband subtle is not always good for us :rotfl2: but one thing that popped into my head is to shop for a newborn outfit together (for no particular reason) and as your leaving the store had it to him and tell him he is going to need that in about 9 months

Congratulations !

Congratulations !

You could combine these two- sneak off yourself to buy a little WDW shirt or ears... wrap it up and buddy up with a character/handler to give it to your DH.

OR- how about a "first visit" button pinned to your belly? (Probably too subtle, lol)

Congrats!

OOHHHHH! I love all these ideas!!! Let's just hope I can hide the nausea from him!!!

Would a character really give him something if I asked them to?

Mazel Tov! Me next! [crossing fingers]

okay, not to rain on anyone's parade...

Will your husband think being told in public/by a character is a good thing? Make sure that you share the news in a way both of you will enjoy. :) My HusbandMan is *very* private and social phobic and would not at all appreciate the thousands of cute ways I could come up with to tell him such a thing in public. It would totally spoil the moment for him.

That said, if you think he'd like it...

Waiters are awesome about being a part of moments like this. Many men like to have a nice dinner and then surprise their love with an engagement ring on the dessert plate. A binky would work just as well. Imagine his chocolate mousee arriving with a Micky binky resting on top.

Announce that you must have a Micky Bar Right This Minute because after all, "I'm eating for two."

If at any point he teases you about taking a rest or getting a snack simply inform him that when HE is pregnant you'll be more sympathetic. Watch him work it out in his head. :rotfl:

Have a wonderful time! Best of luck.

CONGRATS!!!!

How about getting one baby Mickey and one baby Minnie stuffed animal and doing something with it (so dear, do you prefer a boy or a girl)? If dining at Coral Seas, you might try to get a scuba diver to hold up a sign announcing your pregnancy.

I love the binky in mousse idea! Imagine his surprise when he hits something hard in his dessert!

You could start to get in line for an attraction, hesitate and say "OH, I can't ride this! You aren't supposed to ride this one if you're pregnant!"

CONGRATS!! that is so excitng! I dont have any ideas for you , you've gotten GREAT ONES!! I woud love to hear what you did and how it went so check back with us and let us know!!! Have fun!!
PS... lemon is a great trick to fighting that sick feeling.. I lived on lemonheads with both my pregnancies

He definitely loves to be the center of attention, so anything goes!

We had a lot of trouble with conceiving, I had to have surgery, lost one angel together (I had a daughter previously that was born 8 weeks early and then passed away when she was a week old...my little angel in heaven) and then our pregnancies have been very high risk and very stressful....

My boys were planned pregnancies, obviously, and there was never that element of surprise, more of relief. Now, I am ready for the surprise factor, and what could be better than Disney!!! I am so excited that this worked out....

You all have such great ideas...I don't know which to use:rotfl:

Congratulations! Please post when you get back and let us know how it goes and what you decided on. God Bless and keep you all safe and healthy!

Oh congrats!! How about you go by one of the kid's clubs, say Neverland club or just mention you want to go visit the clubs to see which one your future son/daughter would like to go to in a few years?

Is there anything your one-year-old has outgrown like say a baby bottle, paci or even just his old clothes that you could bring along? At the right time you could pull out it or put it in some suitcase and when unpacking say "Look what I brought!" or something like that. Then maybe he would get confused and you could enter the subject. Sorry it's not very good, all I could think of.

When my niece found out she was pregnant over a nice dinner she "proposed" to her DH at the right moment after they had been trying for a while. She found a ring box and put a little teething ring inside, got down on one knee and asked "Will you be a good father?" I thought that was kind of a cute idea.

:thumbsup2 Thank you to everyone who has posted!!! I appreciate it so much! I will definitely let you all know what happens...keep the ideas coming!

Congratulations!!!!
Since you are going so soon I don't know if this will work.

What popped into my head was if you are eating at Coral Reef, you can see if you can schedule the diver to go in with your sign. (Not sure how much notice they need though)

Order a specialty cake, and have them put a baby theme on it with your announcement.

Please post back to us and tell us how it goes

congratulations! i LOVE the teething ring in the box/proposal idea! that would work really well with a paci too! however you do it, enjoy your trip!

I love the Coral Reef idea or the idea of having Mickey or some other character give him the message somehow. Maybe you could get that skywriter dude to write it in the sky for you!!
