So ladies, I need some help. I normally have missed periods, but this time I have not felt right at all. I got married in June, but for the past month and half, I "just haven't felt right." I have had loose stools 4 and 5 times a day (sorry so graphic), I'm constantly cleaning or reorganizing, I've started cooking meals for both breakfast and dinner for my husband and I vs just ceral for breakfast, and I have been very emotional as far as cry, and getting upset easily, my face has been broken out horibly which is not normal for me, and at times as i feel as if my heart is beating in my chest. I have taken 2 home test that were neg. not even faintly positive. I had 2 days of ever so light spotting about 2 weeks ago, but other than that nothing. It seems like everything gives me heartburn which I've never had before. I get hot flashes, and feel quisy numerous times a day.

Am I being paranoid, or could this be lagit? We don't want to have kids yet, but if it happens it happens.

Sorry this is so long, but I just CANNOT shake the thought. Thanks for your help!

When did you take the tests? was it with first mornings urine? You can go request a blood test from the OB/GYN to be sure - I would probably do that to set you rmind at rest - it would be a YES or NO, it would not be anymore guessing.

definitely go see a dr. It may be pregnancy but it may be something else, like a hormone imbalance or something maybe more serious.

Some women never get positive results with HPTs. It could be pregnancy, a reaction to stress and changes in your life, or something else entirely.

You really do need to get a blood test because early pregnancy is a sensitive time and you want to make sure you aren't taking medications that could cause harm.

If you get a blood test, make sure to request a quantitative test, rather than a qualitative test, so that they're reading the amount of hCG and not just whether or not it's there.

I agree that it could be just stress, but also, a few of those have been signs for me with each one of my pregnancies (breaking out, emotional, hot flashes...). Which brand of HPT did you use? I've been either pregnant or TTC for pretty much the past 4.5 years and have definitely discovered a preference in test (for example, with + and -'s I think First Response is the worst, but that Answer Early is the best...but that $ store tests are awesome too, unless you're not familiar with evaporation lines since they do tend to give those, not being enclosed in a case). That said, I also tend to get very early positives (like 8 days past ovulation)...any chance you know where you're at in your cycle?

I'd check with your doctor. Some of your symptoms could signal pregnancy, but they could be a variety of other things as well. You didn't mention some of the more common symptoms of early pregnancy. For me, my 2 earliest symptoms were overwhelming fatigue and my breasts were incredibly sore. I started sleeping in a sports bra because it hurt for them to move at all.

Fatigue was one for me too during a couple of mine. But I never got sore breasts with any of them.

I just saw that you guys don't want to have kids yet...are you on the pill or anything? Charting your cycles?

Definnitly check with your doctor. My positive results have always been very clear. Like the pp said, my biggest symptoms were being really, really tired and my sense of smell was very sensitive. If I could smell it I didn't want to eat it.

Well a lot of what you listed are pregnancy symptoms. But unfortunately pregnancy symptoms can be similar to pms or stress! As far as home pregnancy tests go you can have false negatives, so it is possible to be pregnant and get negative readings. I'd just call your dr up and ask for a blood test so you know for sure!

You may want to get your hormone levels checked. I have pcos(poly cystic ovarian syndrome). I have high testosterone levels, moodiness, pms symptoms more than normal. A lot of diarrhea. Could be your problem. I used to take preg. tests all the time thinking I could be pregnant.

Big, tingling breasts were the sure sign for me all four times. That was the only thing that made me certain...

Did you try a digital hpt? I took two of the kinds that show the line, and they were both negative, but I felt different, as you say you do, so I went and bought a digital one and sure enough "pregnant" showed right up. ;)

(Oh, I had similar symptoms, and guess what...TWINS! :scared1: )

With my oldest daughter, I had 2 urine tests come back negative. I knew something was wrong so I had a blood test and that was positive. I'm not saying you are pregnant, but if you are or aren't, sounds like you should see a doctor. On a side note, my husband and I had only been married 6 months when we got pregnant. Not at all as we planned, but when we thought about it, we will be young grandparents and that will be cool. That baby is in HS now, she will be 14 next month. And while now she acts like a teenage girl, I love her very much and know she was meant to be...
Good Luck either way...

all of the things you are feeling could definately be s&s of pregnancy. As far as HPT's go I have to agree that in my experiance Answer Early Always right, Since I took every test on the market with my first child, my DH and I were not supposed to be able to have kids naturally, so as you can imagine I was truely sceptical. EPT never was right.

Now as a nurse It does matter each test is rated differently for sensativity, and of course only a blood test with Ultrasound is only true confirmation. Just remember as you think about it more and more you will begin to experiance more and more symptoms weather you want a baby or not. a womens body has a tendency to adapt to thoughts, hormones are released and so on.

I have been delivering babies for years and everyones story of pregnancy is different even each pregnancy for one woman with every child. A doctor will always be willing to draw blood for confirmation, which should help ease your mind.

Believe it or not I had a girlfriend on the pill and I said to her you look different and your chest is huge. her answer i must just be getting fat, four and a half months into pregnancy os when she found out, and continued to bleed monthly very weird. But things like this actually happen. It is also said that delayed or missed periods are related to stress and change of lifestyle.

I hope everything works out for you either way. Good luck.
:goodvibes

when my DD was only 4 months old i went through something similar.... my period was 3 weeks late (and it had started back on a regular cycle for about 2 months postpartum) and with all the symptoms that i was having and having been pregnant before i would have put ALL my money on the fact that i was pregnant again....however, 8 pregnancy tests and a lot of money later they all kept coming up false. long story short i think it was just a fluke and i got my period soon after. during that time though i read many articles on the internet and found out many woman take the at home tests with negative results when in fact they are pregnant, some women need to take a blood test at the doctor to find out, so call and make an appointment! it's better to find out sooner than later and if you are...then congratulations! kids are a blessing!!!

The loose stools would make me think you aren't. I knew I was pg the day I tried to do #2 and couldn't. I was constipated from day 1 (not even 3.5 weeks pg)!

My other early symptoms were painful breasts and frequent urination.

Sounds like something is up though - may want to make an appt and get checked out.

None of those symptoms you described sound like early pregnancy to me. Signs of that are tender breasts, peeing more often, being sensitive to smells, nausea. Some of the things you described could happen in the last trimester, or directly before labor starts. Some of them aren't even signs of pregnancy at all.

If it is past the expected first day of your period, and you have taken two tests that were negative, I'd say its safe to assume you are not pregnant. By that point in all my pregnancies there were DARK solid lines saying positive! (even with my 5 week miscarriage/"chemical pregnancy")

It sounds like you are stressed to me. Stress can cause breakouts, bathroom issues, heart palpitations, missed periods. And perhaps you are obsessing over cleaning and organizing b/c that is the only thing you have complete "control" over right now, and it is helping you to stay busy so you dont have to think about what is stressing you out.

Is there something else going in your life is causing you stress?

You may want to ask the doctor about a thyroid test, too. The palpitations, sweats, anxious feelings can be signs of thyroid hormone imbalance. It may just be stress/anxiety, too.

I did not start the nesting until about a week before delivery with my 4 pregnancies. :thumbsup2

Thank you everyone for your replies, I've done the clear blue test, but I'm calling tomarrow to make an appointment probubly. Recently, DH and I have decided if it's meant to be it will be. My granny is 93 so I would love to think she would meet our children, and as pp said we would be young grandparents.

It's starting to really get irritating not knowing one way or another, in the past couple days I've gotten a really weak stomach. I'm in EMS and can watch see hear smell and clean anything, but the past couple days I can't even see it on TV. Very frustrating especially at work.

So I had to add the fact about frequent urination... I hope I don't get this symptom when I am preggo for the fact I feel like I pee all the time as it is. lol
