pregnancy questions update: GOOD NEWS!!!

Did you, by any chance, just go off the pill? I have had a couple of friends think that they were pregnant in the month or two after they did that. They had a lot of symptoms. It just ended up either being that their bodies needed to regulate, or that having the symptoms without the buffer of the pill felt really differently than when they were on the pill.

Most of those symptoms don't sound like early pregnancy, and I would think it would have shown up on the test. If even a faint line, with you having so many physical issues. Definitely ask you doctor about it.

hope all goes well, I had six negative tests before the blood test said yes!! and now Im only 8 weeks away from birth

Yes, camo is right. If you are already having symptoms of pregnancy, then you are far along enough to get a positive on a pregnancy test. The reason being, you dont start having symptoms until your hormones reach a certain level- and when they reach that level, they show up on the test.

Good luck and best wishes either way! My first pregnancy symptom with my son was breaking out. I asked some friends whether they ever had skin issues during PMS (which is what I was sure I had) and they looked at me like I'd grown a second head. I also had extremely sensitive breasts, on the order of don't even LOOK at them like you might brush against them! BTW, my husband had been "fixed" 10 days prior to taking a positive pregnancy test, so I really was sure my symptoms were PMS! Our little "bonus boy" is an unexpected blessing and if you're pregnant, you'll feel the same way.:thumbsup2

Both of my pregnancies I had symptoms long before I got a positive result. Everyone's bodies respond differently you definitely could be. Good luck at the doctors.

Definnitly check with your doctor. My positive results have always been very clear. Like the pp said, my biggest symptoms were being really, really tired and my sense of smell was very sensitive. If I could smell it I didn't want to eat it.

Me too!!! The sense of smell that is. I would get so sick from the smell of dog food, coffee & toothpaste!!!! I actually felt good being pregnant with both my kids. I do think you should see a doctor-especially with your heart racing. I remember once (when I was younger) I took an extra diet pill & my heart raced-never realizing how bad it was for me. I do have high blood pressure but I don't think I had it at the time. Make an appt. :goodvibes

no probablys about it, you should definitely get an appointment. Not knowing is way worse then knowing yes or no. Yes... okay you have your answer. No, then you have your answer and need to move on to find out why you are feeling the way you do.

After reading this thread, I'm dying to know if you are or aren't...

With my first 2 pregnancies, the tests were positive right away, the second one only faintly, but still positive. I didn't notice any difference in brands. I've used the expensive ones and $ store ones with accurate results.

HOWEVER, with my 3rd pregnancy, I took 2 tests when I suspected I was pregnant (missed period by a day or two, felt different, wasn't too careful & suspected it could happen...) and they were negative. Took another a week later, still negative! DH kept saying I wasn't, but I was pretty sure I was, so I went for a blood test. I was right, Positive. But they said my levels were very low and wanted to retest in a couple of weeks to make sure they went up as the pregnancy progressed. (Otherwise, they'd consider it a missed miscarriage.) My levels went up, but were still quite low and they wanted to do a blood test again. I didn't see any point in it at that point, needless to say, 9 months later I had my surprise baby who is now 4.

Whatever happens, I hope you come to peace with the results, as I'm sure you will. I wasn't planning that last baby and it was very overwhelming at first, but when they didn't detect a heartbeat a few months later, I was hysterical thinking I may have lost her. It was amazing how quickly I got used to the idea and bonded with my unborn baby. I hope it works out well for you. :goodvibes

So ladies I am not preggo... they are testing me for polycytic ovarian syndrome. I have had trouble with cyst for the past 5 or so years, so they are now exploring that route. I will be glad to know what's up! Oh thanks for the post about the thyroid, but I've been that route, and my dr said it couldn't be better with a chuckle. When I first starting going to the dr about this he kept blowing me off, but I think he's beginning to take me serious considering I look like I'm about 5 months preggo. Blah...
Thanks for everyones input!

Hopefully they'll start listening to you now and you'll get some real answers. I have some friends with PCOS and it can be really tough! Best of luck sweetie!

:) I have PCOS and yes it can be really tough if you would like any info please feel free to pm me.

I've been thinking something was wrong with me for about 3 years now because I've had an excessive amount of weight gain REALLY fast, but my dr just kept putting it off as I wasn't being conscious of what I ate, and doing diet routine after diet. FINALLY, maybe his ears are open!!!

I too have PCOS. It is hard both mentally and physically. There is hope though, I have a beautiful almost 9 year old daughter. She was a surprise baby after losing 50 pounds.

Another PCOS person here! Took me over a year to get PG with my DS#1 and about 8 months with DS#2 (due in 10 weeks!) and both times the biggest factor was DIET. And I don't mean calorie intake, perse, but what you ate. "The Fertility Diet" is an excellent book that can help you get your cycles under control and make it easier to conceive when you are ready to.

Here are some basics:
- NO white food - white flour, white potatoes, white rice... WHOLE WHEAT/GRAINS as much as you can!
- NO trans fat - minimize this as much as possible!
- SOME full fat dairy is good for you, so pick a regular fat yogurt you like and go for it! (I LOVE Fage greek yogurt)
- FOLIC ACID is very important whether you are PG or not so consider a folic acid supplement.
- Moderate exercise - of course there is a fitness factor involved. You don't have to be a gym bunny or anything but keep track of how much you walk.

Having PCOS sucks, it's like being in menopause at 30. My older female coworkers didn't believe me that I had hot flashes or nightsweats. I carry my weight in my middle (looking PG when I'm not), have moderate acne, and NO sex drive to speak of - I can't stand it!

Good luck - and remember, PCOS is most often diagnosed by symptoms alone, there is no "test" that will tell you yes or no absolutely.

Thanks for the info. I'm only 22, but I've been fighting it since I was 19. It's aggrevating especially being a newlywed of 4 months and knowing it's going to be hard to get pregnant when we want, and oh yea.. the no sex drive thing is def a hinderence, but DH goes with me to the doc, and he is very understanding and is willing to do whatever to help me and us. So that's def a good thing. The biggest "SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH ME" moment has been the weight gain, I have gone up 5 pant sizes in 2 years, and I am cautious about what I eat. Thanks again everyone:grouphug:

Another PCOS'er here! You definetly want to find a Dr. who has expercince with PCOS, if your Dr. just wants to treat you with BC pills, find a new Doc! There is a really great website and message board with a ton of info, it is Soulcysters.com. It is really great! Also, I am pregnant with my first! It took us quite a while, 14 years, to get here but my son should be here in little less that 5 weeks. Good luck to you!

Totally agree with you! I found a doctor who immediately got me off of BC. I had to take progesterone for 9 days out of the month(once we finally figured out my cycle:scared1: ) Not only am I now regular :sad1:  , I no longer need to take progesterone and oh yeah, DD will be 3 soon! DD was an added bonus. We really thought that I would never get pregnant(and honestly, it wasn't any big deal to us if we did or didn't), but we did and we wouldn't change a thing. One thing, make sure your DR. knows about PCOS. I had for Years DR's telling me that my progesterone level was fine. WRONG!! I had none.
The doctor who helped me had me take a hormone course, and it was awesome. The things they talked about went over my head at first because of the PCOS, but once my hormones got figured out I finally found out what symptoms your body gives when ovulating.
Anyways, I hope all goes well and that you will have a doctor who is knowledgeable. :grouphug: to all those with PCOS!

I have it too and my doc keeps trying to put me on BC. I keep having undesireable side effects, bad indegestion, depression etc. Right now I'm off of them, but I may look into the progestin, Thanks! It is possible to get pregnant, I do have 3 kids! But it can also cause problems, I had a miscarriage 2 years ago.:sad1:
