Hi everyone,

I've was thinking of booking today for a week in December 4th - 11th.

I noticed when looking at the Disney UK site it mentioned that if you book through Disney UK that you get preferred viewing for Wishes/Illuminations.

Has anyone viewed Wishes/llluminations from these spots?
Is it decent viewing?

Thanks

Ann Marie:banana:

There is a roped off viewing area for Illuminations at the bottom end of the lake, in front of Spaceship Earth. We got in their on our last trip and it gives just about the best view that you can have.

Alright Kev, I'll bite - how did you get in there? Whenever we've been around that area for Illuminations, it's been a private party/corporate event in that area. We normally stand between Norway and China for good views.

PS: We're still loving the DVC points you helped us to decide to buy (and the add-on points as well :rotfl: )

I think it's only avalable to guests staying at a moderate/delux and you receive a voucher from Disney which I think you have to present.

Not sure though but that's what i'm expecting to have to do in September/October.

There are several VIP viewing areas around World Showcase Lagoon and I'm guessing you could get any one of them. They're reserved for all sorts of groups, including Grand Gatherings and wedding parties. Those I'm aware of are the one which Kev mentions in the middle of World Showcase Plaza, and the peninsulas in front of Italy, France and the UK. I've often seen other areas roped off, but these are the big ones.

We were with Kev that evening (we'd booked an ADR at Teppan Edo and, when the anticipated opening date was pushed back, they were handing out preferred viewing spots to those affected). It's clearly the position from which IllumiNations was designed to be viewed and I'd jump at the chance to watch from there again. It always used to be available to everyone, but it was so popular that it was necessary to stake out a place up to two hour beforehand. Now, I love IllumiNations, but...no thanks! It was virtually empty the night we were there.

Whichever one you end up with, though, they're all great spots.

I think the Wishes preferred viewing location is the Rose Garden to the right of Cinderella's Castle (between the Tomorrowland Bridge and Cosmic Ray's). That's a great place from which to watch - Tink flies right overhead. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your replies folks.

Thats made up my mind, I've booked it :cool1:

A week (we've got two greyhounds and don't want to leave them any longer) at Wilderness Lodge, Courtyard view, 5 day hopper and Deluxe Dining, whooohooo!!!

I'm so excited, it's my 40th birthday pressie to myself.

Great views of Wishes and Illuminations will make it extra special :santa:

I think Deb's already answered for me Ian.

Glad you're enjoying the DVC. What's not to like? :thumbsup2
