Where can I find an explanation of the difference between the Standard & Preferred Studio, 1 Bedroom & 2 Bedroom's in BWV's? :rolleyes1

BWV---- standard rooms face the entrance and parking lot which you really can't see much of.

perferred rooms are 2 types. 1st boardwalk view ( garranteed view) when making ressie. 2nd PV pool or garden view will include( waterway by S/D),courtyard by bike rental place.

Note that standard view units are a very small percentage of the resort and are very popular, they probably book faster than any other type of unit at Disney. They often book day by day at the eleven month window.

I have gotten studios in Oct and Dec without calling day by day, at the 11 month at BWV.

Thanks! I am trying to make a points & resort decision & you all are my sounding boards! :cheer2:

You are right, often is a strong word there. I should have said that they sometimes even book day by day at the eleven month window.

The point is, as a renter pointed out to me, standard could mean "we have tons of these rooms, they are the standard at the resort." He assumed standard would book less quickly because there would be more of them.

This thread made me remember a question. We booked a weekend during Food and Wine in Oct and the only thing left was bw standard view. Are we going to be over a loading dock listening to trucks back up all night? Had that happen once in another resort and it drove us crazy. This is a weekend without the kids and sleeping in is a priority. Trucks would kill that for sure.

Any thoughts welcome!

I have never heard of a complaint about noisy standard view rooms at BWV. You will likely be facing the main entrance and may even have a view of high fireworks at Epcot. I am actually quite surprised that a standard view room was available. Because they are low points and usually quite nice views, they are usually the first to be booked!

As indicated, the majority of the SV rooms at BWV overlook the entrance drive. Here's a picture taken from our SV balcony looking down the wing of SV rooms.

When we looked straight out from the balcony, we had a view of the registration drive up area. Even though that is a very busy area, we were never bothered by noise.

this is the main entrance not the service entrance - it is over on the BWI side.

I love the standard view, I like the BW view you can request, but I really hate the preferred view...

I got that stupid Clown just about everytime....

I'm currently in a one bedroom (here now) standard view at the BWV and think it's great. We're facing the driveway, etc. but in front of our room is a big 'ol oak (or maple) tree that gives us lots of privacy-we can even see the fireworks at night.
If we stand on the balcony and look right, can see the fountain. Nice room.
It's #4101

There is no point difference between boardwalk view and pool/garden, right? I don't see a separate listing for boardwalk view on the points chart, so I assume that means it's just first come first serve in terms of which preferred view you get?

It's first come, first served at the time of reservation, not check-in. You actually reserve one view or the other.

Just to clarify Deb's reply:
When you call to book BWV, you can request one of 3 different views: standard view, preferred view or BW view. The latter 2 views have the same cost in points but are separate categories to book. You must specify which view you want and MS will check availability. Your confirmation will specify which view of the 3 views you reserved.

Std view comprises about 20% of the resort. BWView also is about 10-20% of the resort.

There are some preferred views that have the valet parking lot as the primary view---though the canal can be seen as well. I was told the fact that I had a view of water made it a preferred view. But really I was suprised that the main portion of the view was that parking lot and a service area driveway.

The garbage dumpster view, funny enough, is off prefered view rooms facing the water canal near Jelly Rolls. We found this area to be louder than the boardwalk side.

There are a few rooms that the primary view is the valet parking lot. They are the last rooms on the long hallway. Since I had stayed previously 2 doors down and the room was standard view, I went back to the front desk to ask if we were given the correct room. As it turned out the room next door was standard view and ours was preferred view.

Dislainey....
This was precisely my experience. I actually called the front desk because I thought they made a mistake. Later, I found out that rooms a couple doors away from me were standard ? I don't know how the BWV makes this distinction---based on what ? I felt our view should have been standard. Actually, most of the standard views I've seen posted on these boards were better than the preferred view we had.
