Hello Everyone! I have a question about a trip I am planning for next year. Can I purchase the 2 year preferred annual pass that US has a special on now, and early next year book an on site resort room when the AP discounts come out - prior to actually having the AP in hand? If so, how do I go about getting the discount?

I don't want to spend the money now and find out that I must have the actual pass in hand to get the AP discount. If I can book the room with the AP discount, but have to show it before checking in, I could go to the park prior to checking in the resort and actually get it. Thanks for any advice/input.

You don't need the annual pass (or AAA card) when you make the reservation. You just present it at check-in (if they ask).

I bought 2 of those passes online and then booked our hotel. When we got there they never asked to see the ap but if they had I had the paper showing I had purchased them but still needed to pick them up.

When we checked into the HRH in Feb., they asked to see the AP and I showed them the voucher I had and proudly stated: "We're on our way to GS to pick them up after we're done here!" :thumbsup2 That was good enuf...but she did inspect it pretty closely....

Thanks for the advice/input. I purchased the AP today and we look forward to our trip next year.

One other question - how do I book the resort stay via the internet using the AP discount? Or is it better to call and tell them I have an annual pass?

Again, thanks for the help.

Steve

Steve.... you CAN call them and tell them you have AP, but the rates aren't out for AP yet. Usually about 3-6 months in advance they release. If you are using the website, the code is APH ...just like triple A is AAA. If you are Loews First member GOLD or higher status, call to reserve to get your upgrade. If you are a Blue level, you can make your res online. If you don't have a Loews First card, go get one from their website (free). Book your room now at rack rate, and then when AAA comes out, switch your res to AAA (assuming you HAVE AAA). Lately, AAA is close to AP rate, but sometimes AP beats AAA by $20 or so.... the AP rate is something you have to keep an eye on....They release less AP rate rooms than they do AAA.... For instance, last June when I called RPR to apply my AP rate, I was told there weren't any rooms left at that rate....so, I kept my room at my AAA rate I booked. They probably had a few rooms not sold (as the hotel was almost completely booked for the entire month) and wanted to fill them, so threw a bone to AP holders
