Prebooking seats with virgin

Hi all.

Anyone know what reference number I need to do this? My flight is a year away now, and I know I can prebook seats at 11 months.

I haven't got a booking reference yet, so do I need to phone virgin for one, and is that all I then need?

You will need the virgin six digit reference number, but at the moment with virgin you can only select your seats 90 days ahead, this is whilst they are upgrading the computer system.

Thats a nightmare... How long does the update take, any idea? Wanted to get in first to snag good seats!!

Noone knows really but I think it is until all the 747's have been refurbished. Its a pain as its always nice to know where ur sitting but they are only requests so they can move you at anytime.

we are in the same situation with Virgin we pre booked our seats then when i logged on to check what films were on when we fly it came up that we may not get the seats we chose with them refurbishing the planes. Hoping its sorted though soon

Until further notice all seat request will become available 90 days in advance. The 'upgrade' has been ongoing for months so don't expect it will be completed anytime soon.

The fleet refurbishment has only affected PE requests and these are becoming available at 90 days starting October for January departures onwards.

No, it's for all seats as we couldn't book our Economy seats for this year until recently and not at all for next year.

Sorry, but the fleet upgrades have NOTHING to do with the restrictions on seat requests unless you are flying PE.

VA put a stop on seat requests for departures after 1 November 2012 for all classes and all routes as they are upgrading the system. They have now released booking 90 days in advance. See here
