Pre-Vacation Annoyances! Does anybody feel my pain?

Ok, I'm Going to Cali tomorrow , and I have to be up at 5am to get to a hotel by 6am to park the car, call a taxi, get to the airport by 7am to get through the Security and be at the gate by 8am so we can catch our plane by 9am. Now what you may ask is the problem? sounds simple enough right? WRONG! The Security Check is what's messing with my mind! I'm all for security at the airports in light of 9/11. I wanna be safe when I fly. who wouldn't? But People are getting a little, no, make that Super Paranoid. Ok. I don't mind the X-Raying your bags that's fine and dandy, they've always done that. I don't mind the shoe thing that much, I wear slip-on shoes. But what really yanks my chain is I can't even bring a swiss army knife, a razor to shave my legs, and Tweezers to pluck my eye brows. Ok, I can understand the swiss army Knife, if it's sharp enough it can be used as a weapon, the razor, I can kinda see why, I mean the blade can be taken out and used as a weapon, But MY GOD, TWEEZERS? Who would use TWEEZERS as a Weapon? Are they gonna Tweeze me to death? ooooooh I'm so scared of the tweezers, they're gonna kill me.....COME ON PEOPLE! It's Tweezers! And TOOTH BRUSHS AND HAIR BRUSHES! Oh, MG, We have to put BOTH in our carry on bag. We can only bring one suit case per person and one carry on and a purse. that's stupid. and you can NOT lock your suit case! HELLO! People Steal things! I've had friends who went on vacation and had some personal items stolen that ment alot to her! I lock my suit case. Even when I'm going to church camp! This has become a What Can I Bring and What Can I Not Bring Because My Personal Things Could Be Searched and Possibly Stolen. All the while I have my mom telling at me to do one thing and go in one direction then at the same time I have my dad telling me to do another thing in a differant direction! UGH! getting ready for vacation is STRESSFUL, now I know why vacation is so nice once you get to where you're going, all the stress and hard work pays off.

oh they don't serve Lemonade anymore on planes...well at least on Continental and Delta...all they told me was "we don't serve it after 9/11" I'm guessing it's high acidity is dangerous or something

my friend got her tweezers taken away too when we were going on our Disney cruise. They were expensive too, well i could see why they would take them thought because hers were sharp and pointy.

You can bring all those things (razor, swiss army knife, tweezers) but just dont pack them in the bag you are bringing on to the plane. I would rather ride safe on a plane then have soemone attack me with their tweezers lol

I feel your pain. This year out of my whole family, I'm the one who got searched. Yes lucky Lexi lol and I fear flying so bad. So anyway they search me and im wearing this skirt that had zippers all over so of course im beeping up a storm and than im wearing these huge boots and for some reason they go off. Well i take them off and i shrink about 4 inches...im really tiny so i was getting odd looks. So everything checks out and i get my shoes back, but as they're running our carry on's through the X-ray machine, well who do you think's bag is going to get checked? Mine of course lol. It turns out they picked up some bomb substance and had to take everything out of my bag. It was a little embarressing to have your dad, mom and little sister see the um...really really personal contents of your bag lol. But I wound up getting my eyelash curler and tweezers taken away. Didn't really care about the tweezers but i was so partial to my eyelash curler ...And I live in NYC I should be used to it lol so I feel your pain
