Pre-Trip: Where has the fall gone???

I got the call that my internet was in, so while I was at the trading post I had to pick up a few items. My Pin for 2015 I chose this one, its the first time I have had someone I was seeing come down with me. Otherwise I been going solo with friends, we still have a great time but it will just as great to have my GF down here who is also a Disney fan.

And I needed something to enjoy those frosty beverages in.

Its off to dinner now, but I will try to get another post in tomorrow.

We walked by but no one was there must have gone to DTD. You are a brave soul with all that construction. Am sure we will meet up.

jbrostek,

I like that last picture of the Happy Camper cups. May have to pick up one for the Aliner (and put my name on it with a Sharpie so it doesn't "walk off all by itself" :sad2:).

We get in Thursday morning.

Bama Ed

Glad to see you guys made it! Your site looks great too. That Point South KOA... is that the one in Yemmassee with the nice British lady who runs it?

Kris, we left around 9ish for DTD, my cart was parked in another site up until we left. My truck is down in overflow parking so you wont see it if you swing by. You have to look for the green EZGO with the beige cover.

It's been a lazy morning, but I am just about to clean up and get ready to hit a park and likely Magic Kingdom. We have dinner reservations at 7:50 at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, so need to get back in time to feed and walk the pups before we head on our way. I did have a great time at DTD even with the construction. We walked the stores and the construction wasn't all that bad. But those of you coming down here the only bus stop is at Market Place, so be prepared for that.

There are some new walk areas that where not as nice or open in the past.

I am sure ill have an update later. But for now its time to get my rear in gear.

Glad you are there safely. Pictures look great as it is colder than an ice cube here and snowing. We are under 60 days, and looking forward to our first stay there.

Thanks Chris - I hope your trip will be just as enjoyable.

Last night ran into Kris and Mike and this afternoon Ed came by to say hello. The winds have been whipping, and we have been lazy due to the cooler temps and wind chill. But eventually we will make it to a park....maybe.

I can't believe it is Thursday already, but we did make it out and about. After Monday spent in on setup and relaxing, Tuesday we made it to Magic Kingdom for a few hours.

Most of the rides had pretty long waits so it was more browsing and people watching then anything else. But we did catch the parade while we where there. I got some good pictures after getting my camera setup to deal with the angle of the sun.

And I think they turned out well.

After that we had reservation at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

And had a wonderful dinner

After we got back that evening it was off to bed. The next morning was sort of lazy, but by about 12 we where on our way to Hollywood Studios. We had plans to hit some rides but somehow ended up at the Tune-In lounge and never made it very far after that. Some fried cheese, onion rings and a few drinks later and we where pretty much not going to hit any rides.

So by dark it was time to head back to the campers as the temps where quickly dropping.

This morning it was pretty chilly and that killed our ambitions to be out there doing much when its just cold vs. warm. But I have taken the pups to the dog park and will do so again before dark. I think a park this evening is possible or just dinner out. We shall see what everyone wants to do.

However, today was a good day for a nice hot breakfast so I whipped something up for the families.

After sausage, bacon, eggs and pancakes we all hit food coma anyway. But that wont stop us from enjoying that is for sure.

Tomorrow Caren flies in to join us and I cannot wait for her arrival. I know we plan to hit Epcot after she gets here for Magic Hours, but not sure what park we will visit tomorrow daytime.

Stay warm and enjoy the updates and pictures.

Great pics. Yes too cold today. I am working inside in the warmth. My in laws are coming to visit and have dinner at trails end. We are hopefully hitting the dog park after work. My dogs have been lazy today.

Great talking to you and mike last night.

I had some work to do as well. Not my full time job, but one of my clients called yesterday needing me to adjust their VPN to their hosting center. Then another quick call this morning to apply a software upgrade to the router to fix a windows 8 bug.

About 1 hours time each, and then spent most of the day trying to get my photostream to my PC to work again. It finally did but what a pain that was.

I am about to walk dogs, see if the park is busy or not we may stop in after I made sure it was pretty much bug proof. If not they will just get a nice long walk for the afternoon.

Thanks for the update!

Love the parade pics, that will be something new to us.

Your Mickey pancakes look terrific! I believe we have the same one, red mickey shape large cookie cutter, purchased on our last trip at the Trading Post and have tried and failed a couple times over to make Mickey pancakes out of them. What is your secret?

Enjoying your TR and pictures. I also have a red mickey shape template for pancakes from the trading post, but I have not has success using it. Mine don't come out as perfect as yours. So what's the secret? Now at least two of us want to know.

It is the silicon ring, not the large cookie cutter that I use and my secret is I use a pitcher for my pancake mix rather then a bowl. I put in the liquid first and then the mix and mix it in the pitcher. So much easier to pour the cakes without an issue. I use the same method for waffles. I keep small spoon around to help like stop the drips when pouring. For the mickey pancakes I start by pouring into the center and then lead into each ear. I then use the spoon to spread it out and keep it from overflowing and adding slowly till the whole form is full. I then flip the cakes with the ring still there and as it cooks just start taping the sides and the cakes start to let loose from the rings.

Pictures are low right now, the ones on my phone are not coming in through my photostream to my PC so I need to use the phone or ipad to get them up on my google pictures to share here.

Due to the cooler weather we only went to MK when we felt it would be warm enough. I watched wishes, celebrate the magic and even caught the electrical parade not once, but twice!!

Those pictures will be uploaded later, but today has been a slow morning. It is overcast and dreary, but I was up at 7 and started to get the RV neatened up. As long as I keep up with the regular vacuuming I can keep how much of FW ground cover I have in the RV. It was also time for laundry so that got going and as I type I am waiting for the dryer to finish.

Caren's flight arrives this evening and once she is settled in at the house we will be heading over to Epcot for dinner and to enjoy Magic Hours there. I am not sure if we will do much prior to that but since no one was ready to go first thing this morning. So I decided to do the Mousekeeping so that tomorrow when Caren is here is she wants to get going early to a park I won't have to do laundry that evening or Sunday morning when I finally ran out of certain things.

Last night ran into Kris and Mike and this afternoon Ed came by to say hello.

J, I enjoyed talking with you yesterday. But I thought I had seen you somewhere before and when you posted this picture yesterday, it hit me.

:cool2: = J

Understand about the cleaning. We are doing the same every few days vacuuming the coach to keep of with the pine needles. We only have a hand vac but thankfully it is easy to vacuum. The dogs' tails bring in so much debris. I am also doing laundry. Figure I will be moving slow the next few days so wanted the critical stuff done.

Hope Caren enjoys her time here. Am sure we will be out walking again just slowly.

She is a fan as much as I am. But so far her flight is delayed 1:30 so far due to the incoming flight being delayed and now delays at Dulles Airport. Just hoping she has a smooth flight.

All the cleaning is done. The group is trying to decide what we can do since I need to keep an eye on her flight status.

Caren's flight did arrive Friday, but after 8pm not the 5:40PM it was scheduled for. I really wanted to meet her at the end of the security zone but with a 7' clearance in the parking garage it was a concern. Well I cleared it but only by a few inches.

We got back o the RV about 9, our friends made sure we had some pizza from trails end to eat since dinner plans got all messed up with the flight delay. By 11pm Caren was out cold and I was not far behind. While little was done that day it was exhausting.

Saturday we got up and started the day at Hollywood studios with Caren.

This time around we made it around the park but not many rides, seems everyone else had the same idea and wait times where over an hour each and just not worth it. We did go on the great movie ride, saw the muppets and some friends went to Indiana Jones, which was cut by a 3rd as the last scene was not done. We caught some of our favorite acts like public works and Much Sweat and Sheers band.

Somehow ended up at the Tune in Lounge before heading back for dinner. It was my turn to cook and I had Beef Stroganoff in the crock pot.

After that we went over to the Magic hours at Magic Kingdom and hit some of the rides like the Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain, the Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Small World. We got back at 2am from that and pretty much fell asleep right away.

We are preparing this morning to head over to Animal Kingdom for the day, then come back to take care of pups and freshen up before Caren and I head over to Artists Point for a dinner together just the two of us. Then catch the Magic hours at MK again for the evening.

We know after Run Disney is out crowds drop off, so looking at Epcot tomorrow and back to Hollywood on Tuesday. Caren is enjoying the sleeping in version of how we do Disney. I am still working on my photostream, but getting by for now.

Sounds like you are having a good time. And fun pics. Caren looks as excited as my DW to have her pic taken.

Hopefully the crowds lessen some and you have shorter wait times.

I have not dont any memory maker downloads yet. But they will happen shortly. Epcot got completely rained out on us after only an hour or two there. We slogged back to the campers to dry off. Yesterday Caren and I headed out a little early, went to Hollywood and hit Rocking Roller Coaster, Toy Story, Star Tours and the Stunt show. Then we met up with the rest of the group in World Showcase. Probably had way too many tasty libations and then came back to the camper to feed and walk the dogs.

Then it was off to Raglan Road for some tasty treats. Today is supposed to be a MK day with fast passes in the afternoon for peter pans flight, space mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. Could not get any for the mine train, but we where on it once already during Magic Hours. I think we want to hit the Laugh floor as well, then dinner reservations at Be Our Guest tonight at 7.

Enjoy your day at MK and your dinner! I hear Peter Pan has a new look. I tried not to peek at the pics posted as I would like a few new things in this trip. Hopefully the weather will stay clear too! We should be rolling in tomorrow around 9.
