Hello All,

Welcome to our Spur-of-the Moment trip to WDW. We purchased annual passes in Dec 2008, knowing that we were going to WDW in May 2009, but never in a million years did I think we'd be going in March too!

How did this trip date in March 2009 take place? Well DH asked what I wanted for my birthday this year. I was joking and told him, I'd like to go to WDW!!! Well later that day, he was planning our trip.

We have a 5th Wheel camper, so we decided to stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground, March 27 to April 3rd, 2009. We have reserved a premium site and added the Disney Dining Plan to our reservation.

Thought I would try my hand at a Pre-trip report. This will be our 4th trip to WDW in the last 2 and half years. We love all things Disney and are very excited about our upcoming trip. We also have trip to WDW in May 2009.

The Cast:

Me: Steph, I'll be celebrating my birthday at Disney this year.

DH: Greg, He's the reason I'm getting to go this time!

Wyatt: DS2- He loves all things Mickey and he's actually our "Little Souvnier" from our Jan 2006 trip to WDW.

Here's our plans so far: Let me know what you guys think!

Day 1 Thursday 3/26/09

We will be driving to Orlando this time, since we're camping. It will take us about 12 hours to get there, and driving all that in one day is too much for the little one, so we'll try to leave on this day at around 2PM and travel a good part of the way.

Where will we stay? TBD later..I need to research campgrounds along the way.

Day 2 Fri 3/27/09 Arrive at Fort Wilderness Campground for check-in. Hopefully, we'll get there earlier than later.

Dinner ADR: Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot

Day 3 Sat 3/28/09 Downtown Disney & Disney Studios

Dinner ADR: Fulton's

Day 4 Sun 3/29/09 Magic Kingdom Day

Breakfast ADR: Chef Mickey's
Dinner ADR: California Grill

Day 5 Mon 3/30/09 Hollywood Studios

Dinner ADR: 50's Prime Time

Day 6 Tues 3/31/09 Epcot "Happy Birthday to Me"

Dinner ADR: Le Cellier

Day 7 Wed 4/1/09 Animal Kingdom

Dinner ADR: Rainforest Cafe

Day 8 Thurs 4/2/09 Open Plans

Dinner ADR: Narcoosee's at Grand Floridian

Day 9 Fri 4/3/09 Starting Home- Very Sadly

Great start! Your plans sound great! Chef Mickey's is amazing!!!! Where have you stayed on your previous trips?

Hi! We'll be at Disney World the same time as you. We had originally been thinking of tent camping at the Fort later this year (thus the title for my PTR), but plans have changed and we'll be staying at POR. I'm very excited to hear about your plans and your visit. I'd love to stay at Fort Wilderness someday.

And MY birthday is March 30th! :)

Hi!! Thanks for joining my thread! I hope to update often.

In Jan 2006 we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 6 days and then at the Saratoga Springs DVC for 6 days!

In March 2008 it was the Caribbean Beach Resort

In December 2008, we stayed at the Beach Club Resort for a pre-cruise stay, then went on the 7 Day Western Disney Cruise, then we did a two day post cruise stay at the Polynesian Resort.

Well, we'll both be at WDW for our birthday's!! That's great! I can't wait to stay at the Fort. We have always wanted to stay there and we think our son will love it to!

More for our trip planning... I have been scouring the Fort Wilderness Threads to get help on deciding where we want to stay in the campground.

Which loop? So far we have been told that we need to request Loop 500, and that Loop 800 in really nice.

I have also found that we must decorate our camper!! That it is something that all the campers do when visiting Disney!

So now, I am off to do some shopping!!

I last left trying to decide on which loop we wanted to stay in at the Fort. After much research, we have decided that we will request Loop 600!

Up next...Where do we stay on the way down to Disney. We need a place to stay on I-10, right around the Destin exit. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't have any ideas for you. I've been to Destin before, but was staying with a relative. Beautiful area. :goodvibes

What parks? What Days? That it the question!! I am going to look at the park hours today!

Check back later for more!

Hi there! Our family loves camping but we go the tent route! LOL! My DH would NEVER drive 12 hours to camp....I have a hard time getting him to drive 4 to the Adirondacks! Looking forward to hearing about camping at Disney! Congrats on your birthday trip! :cool1:

My DH would drive a lot further than that to camp! We have everything packed in the camper, so no bags to lug around. BUt I must admit at WDW, we'll probably just be sleeping there, not really camping. It's more like bringing along our own hotel room.:)

Great start here. Some of our friends are also having a trip on May first week, they are staying at Poly. I hope they will enjoy their first trip and for your family too.

Have a nice day. :)
