Ok bear with me, I have never done a trip report of any kind, despite being on 5 cruises to date. Also apologies, I cannot post photos here for some reason - any clues? :confused3

So let me introuduce ourselves - The Olivers.
Dad - Rob, up for a challenge approaching his 40th birthday:cool1:
Mum - Jo, still a big kid at heart aged 38 -that be me:)
Little Lady - Holly, a bookworm aged 9 going on 19:rotfl2:
Little Dude - Evan, everybit like his dad in character aged 6:banana:

We hail from the UK, not too far North of London, and have been cruising with Disney since our first ever trip stateside summer 2008 on the Wonder.

Right on with the report! Well that is what you are expecting to read - right?:lmao:

So as of today it is officially 20 sleeps until we fly out to Florida - having a few sneaky days in the Magic Kingdom before boarding the Dream:cool1:

What have the preperations been for this trip? Well Rob took it upon himself to book while on board the Wonder during the NY's cruise 2009 into 2010 and surprised the children and I with it during our last breakfast! So I have had absolutely nothing to do with the planning etc - no stress for me then:rotfl2:

My job will be to pack - oh and I had to write to the children's schools to get permission for holiday time out! That is it!!

So the three week countdown is on. Jobs for this week - start the countdown and write the packing list.

So there it is, the first installment of my report - sorry not so enthralling as some of the other TR that I have been reading and enjoying, hopefully the actually trip report will be more exciting.

Countdown 20 sleeps:woohoo:

Hi Jojo!! So happy you have started- I know everyone will want to hear all about your cruise on the maiden voyage of the DREAM!!!

To post pictures you will need to get a photobucket account(which is free, until you start posting a million pics and getting them viewed a million times, but you'll be good for a while!). Once you upload photos to the site, you will use the bottom link (of the 4 links they offer to each photo), copy it, then paste it in your TR and voila! Pictures in your TR! :goodvibes There are other sites besides photobucket you can use- I just use that one, so that's the only one I can explain to you.:goodvibes

Hi Ellen

thanks for the assist re photos, I have a photbucket acc, so will get straight to it. Oh down below in the post rules it says I cannot post attachments - maybe that is stopping me? why would that be?

Jojo,

Looking forward to hearing all about your cruise!

Regarding the pictures -- I think you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can put in pictures.

Kristen

Thanks Kristen - any idea how many? do I have to post one word per post until I get my quota - In would hate not to be able to post pics of the dream for folks.

I almost forgot - a "TO DO" for this week was to decide on magnet designs for the cabin door. I have coveted others magnets on previous cruises but have never got round to any of our own - that is till now. So tonight I have put my request in to Jordak and will wait and see what comes back - so excited.

Hi JoJO,
I have marked your trip report so I can follow you along the way.
My DH and his siblings and spouses (6 adults total) are all sailing on the DVC members cruise in September 2011 on the Dream.
This will be our first cruise so we are eager to learn all we can, so I am going to learn from you!
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to "stow away" with you!

Hi Jo! We are sailing on the Dream in 2012, so I'm looking forward to hearing all about your trip. We have done the Magic twice and the Wonder once, but can't wait until the Dream!

I couldn't find any info on the boards about this so I'm thinking I am not correct! Sorry!

Hopefully someone else can help you out. Soon!

:woohoo: I am can't wait to hear all about your trip, how exciting to be going on the Maiden Voyage of the Dream.

In regards to the pictures, I am not sure how many posts, but you should just copy and paste the link from photobucket directly into your post, if it won't allow you it should tell you how many posts you need to have before you add pictures. I hope this helps, would love to see pictures of the new ship.

Thank you so much I have got the picture Issue sorted now:cool1: I hadn't got the IMG code ticked to copy and paste just the html.

So here we are - The Olivers and a few friends;) during our NYE cruise on The Wonder 2009 into 2010

Its not the best quality of pictures but a rare one with the four of us in. Its normally one or the other of us grown ups not in the picture.

Whoop Whoop 3 weeks to go - (think I got carried away with my sleeps to go post at the beginning when I said it was only 20 sleeps - so to get it right, we leave the UK on the 22nd, so from today its officially 16 sleeps til the flight)
So now I am mega excited as the Dream has arrived home. Oh how I wish I could have been in PC to see her arrival, but alas I was having to just dream of her arrival whilst working:confused3(it was mid afternoon here in the UK when she was pulling into port.)

So what other preperations have been made for my trip? - actually apart from planning my magnets(Jordak has done a fab job:thumbsup2) and purchasing a new swimsuit, I haven't done anything else, not even planning the packing list.:scared1:

What I have been doing is selling DCL to anyone and everyone who will listen:rotfl2: I really should be on commission. I think my collegues are getting a tad fed up:laughing:

these next few weeks can't pass quickly enough now:rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear about your trip. We'll be on the Dream March 6. It's our first cruise!

Hi Jojo! Can't wait to read your report! :woohoo: for 16 more sleeps!

Bought DH a little gift today - 2 Minnie Mouse shaped highlighter pens so that he can deal with his obsession with the navigator:rotfl2: a bargin at 89p each

a fortnight today we should have just landed in Orlando:banana::cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2::mickeyjum

can you tell I am excited?
