Pre-Trip, Disney in August...am I nuts?!? - Trip Report!!

I am still trying to catch up there is only so much I can read while I am at work :rotfl2: So anyways I love the pictures of you two babies so adorable I have four dogs myself. The pictures of the shirts are cute :lovestruc and I left the best for last. I love the pictures of you and your other half  The waterfall and the wedding pics so amazing. Have fun before you know it August will get here it's just around the corner. :dance3:

Hey Texan! Welcome and thanks for the sweet comments! August hours are almost up and I'm going stir crazy waiting for them! :dance3: Just hoping they'll be up soon so I can finally set some things down in stone, hehe!

At least you are just waiting for tomorrow I have to wait until Dec. for mine :scared1: LOL:rotfl2:

So as I wait patiently for August hours to post :hyper: I thought I'd help the time go by with more updates and such.
I'm sure most of you by now have heard of the infamous Swine Flu that's out and about. It's weird since several school districts are starting to close in my area. No major shut downs for me yet, but we'll see what the Health Department says here in the next few days. I was completely against shutting school down (I don't want to make up any more time than I have already have to!), but then I learned that the schools currently shut down don't have to make up the days! WHAT?! :scared1: Sign me up!! I am all for having a week off from school! :thumbsup2Or, as one of my collegues said, "We need a Swine Week!" :lmao: I don't know, it's just a little weird to me the way people are reacting. Put something on the news and it gets totally blown out of proportion! :happytv: Then again, I'm the kind of germaphobe (sp?) that sprays all of my student desks with Lysol every day!
Anyway, I wanted to show off something else that I bought from the online Crocs shop in addition to our shoes (which I LOVE by the way! So comfy!). They had some sort of special for a bag for $15ish, so I thought, what the heck. It is so cute and I can't wait to take it WDW!!
bag.jpg

And I also bought the little things for Croc shoes (I think they're called "jibbitz"?). Unfortunately, they won't fit in either one of our shoes, but they sure will go on the bag!!
jibs.jpg

I bought the smiley face for J (he picked it out, so cute!) and the globe for both of us. Well, kind of... We're both teachers, but I thought he would appreciate it since he teaches world history. "Animal" was all J, too. I think Donald and Animal are his favorites! And I had to buy Mickey since we are going to Disney World, duh! WALL-E was all me!!!! I love him! That movie was so great!! And WALL-E is the cutest little robot ever!!
One additional picture that I just have to share is one of my boys, Koda. I'll admit, we do let them sleep with us on the bed sometimes. I know, I know. We're bad. I just love those boys so much!! Anyway, I took this shot of Koda when I walked in on him. Keep in mind, we let them sleep on the foot of the bed, not up near our heads!!

I showed J this shot and he made such an angry (yet playful) face! :headache: Our boys are a handful, but they are so much fun!
Good news about grad school! I'm almost finished with the 2nd paper (page 17 and a half!) so I can turn it in by next week...hopefully. Then I'll have a few weeks off before summer school. My plan is to create a type of Disney Binder for our vacation!! Then things will really start coming together!
As far as WDW stuff goes, I'm counting the minutes now until August hours are available! :woohoo: Then only a few more days until I can make our ADRs!! I'm hoping to get J on board with some of the planning and show him the menus so he can feel like he's part of the fun! Plus I want him to help me decide on some places to eat, too! My original restaurant plans have changed a little. I'm getting to the point where I'm second-guessing myself. Should we forget about 50's Prime Time and try for Biergarten? Should I plan on dining at Crystal Palace cause of all the rave reviews? Ugh! I don't know, I think I'm just getting antsy. No biggie!
So that's the latest with me! I hope to do more shopping in the next few weeks for some summer essentials. Especially at American Eagle! So many people on the DIS boards have posted pics of some really cute outfits from there! Must check it out!!
I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful pre-Friday!!

Fun update!! I love your new bag! :thumbsup2 And hopefully you'll get a Swine Week! :rotfl: I liked 50s PTC, but it wasn't my favorite. CP is a lot of fun for a breakfast--and you get to get into the park early. But again, it wasn't one of our top choices for this trip...But I'm sure once you start looking at menus with J, you'll have a better idea of where you want to go! :) I just love the dining part! ;)

I am waiting for the August hours too...somehow that will make our trip seem that much closer!

Yea!! Welcome! Congrats on the wedding and yea for Texas peps! What part of Dallas? I grew up in Oak Cliff but live in Plano now.
I'm hoping with all the time I spend on here that the trip will be amazing! And hubby won't help but love Disney!! I'm still trying to be a little discrete in how much time I'm on here (I mean, I do have school stuff to do :rolleyes1 ), but hopefully the trip will be great!!
And congrats on finishing up your degree this August! :dance3: It's hard no matter what level! Good luck with yours!! :cheer2:

Thanks! :) I went to school at Dallas Baptist. It's off of Spur 408 off of Loop 12 S inbetween 20 and 30. So down by South Irving, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Cedar Hill... If we move back, we'd love to be in the Mansfield area or even over in Hurst...But that's a big IF. We have no clue if we'll move back and when that would be.

Yes!! I completely know what you mean. I want all of this planning to really pay off! I'm sure it will though. We'll each come back with Disney Loving Hubbies! Thanks--good luck on your degree too!! :yay:

Thanks so much! I should probably break the bag in also, just like the shoes, eh? I'm still waiting for August hours, hopefully today will be the day! CP would be a lot of fun, and we would get into the park early....hmmm.....decisions, decisions...;)

I am waiting for the August hours too...somehow that will make our trip seem that much closer!

Will the hours ever come??? :sad2: I might be checking a little more today than I probably should while I'm at work :lmao: Disney just needs to post the hours already! Us on the DIS Boards are going crazy!!:banana:

August hours are up!!!:banana: Well, most of them! All except for Animal Kingdom, but hopefully they'll be here soon! So excited!!! :dance3: Now J and I will have to look at the menus so I can be ready for that 6:00am call Monday morning! :surfweb:

That is so good they finally put the hours up. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you monday morning!

Yea!! Thanks for all the good vibes everyone!! :goodvibes I'll keep you all posted on how Monday goes! Also, J and I finally sat down last night to go over the menus! He seemed on board about most places, but didn't like the review he saw on O'hana. :sad2: Has anyone been there?! What did ya think? And the day we plan on going to DHS, no Fantasmic showing. :sad1: Oh well, maybe next trip...
I've basically got the whole weekend to get things figured out. Think good thoughts for my ADRs!! ;)

Good morning to all!
I have to say, I've been up for a while (4:40am to be exact) so I could be ready at 5:59 to call Disney. I didn't feel so good when I woke up (stomach bug), but I decided to do my workout (usually get up at 5:00am most days for this). I finish just in time to have Johnny hand me my phone so I could call, which I did a few times before they finally opened. After all the selections, I was officially put on hold at about 6:03 with an expected 30-minute wait :scared1: Geez! By this time, though I had decided to call in sick (my tummy was not feeling good!). I had Johnny wait with the phone while I took a VERY quick shower then took the phone and waited for a total 23 minutes. The CM I spoke to was really nice, cracked a few jokes with her! Sorry, can't remember her name! :sad2: After we briefly chatted, we got to my ADRs. I got them all!!! YES!!!:woohoo: The only adjustment I had to make was the date/time of Le Cellier. I didn't really care about the date of this one, I just wanted to go (J is a soup nut! so he'll hopefully love the cheddar soup everyone talks about!). Here is the list of our official restaurants:
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Ohana (dinner)
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater (lunch)
Le Cellier (wanted dinner, but got lunch instead)
Character meal at Tusker House (Donald's Safari) (breakfast)
Boma (dinner, supper excited!!)
When I was finished, I was really surprised! A lot easier than I thought it would be...don't know why... Oh yeah! I did call yesterday to see how long it would take and if my reservation number worked. I got through pretty quick, probably less than 2 minutes. Anyway, I'm just grateful I got everything (although I had a few back-ups, just in case). Poor J didn't understand the stress I was under. He just went along like a champ, probably thinking I was nuts! Oh well! :snooty: I know he'll appreciate it when we're there!
So now that we've hit this milestone on our journey and school is almost out for summer, I thought now would be the best time to start planning some pre-trip fun for J! I plan on renting Disney movies (if I don't own it!) and have a theme night once a week or so! Staci, I totally stole your idea! :guilty: But it was so darn cute that I had to!!:cutie: So here's your props! :goodvibes
My movie list included some classics and some newer films. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know! Here's the list with the theme:
"Finding Nemo"; scavenger hunt (I want to start with this one. Maybe when J comes home he'll find a note that will lead him to another and maybe another until he finds the DVD. Not sure how to lead into it, any thoughts?.....)
"Toy Story"; game night (we like board games, cards, dominoes, etc whenever we have time)
"Mulan"; order Chinese food (we love Pei Wei, and J has seen this movie before and liked it!)
"WALL-E"; this might work after a day of doing a little yard work! :lmao: We saw this at the theater and both loved it!
Possible others:
"Cinderella"; maybe after a day of house cleaning?!
"Sleeping Beauty"; slumber party theme?
"Aladdin"; order Mediterranean cuisine?
The possible ones are BIG maybes! I'm just not sure...:confused3
So that's the latest with me! I'm at home right with an upset tum, so I may be on the DISboards more than normal...:rolleyes1
Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!! :goodvibes
