Can anyone help me out with how to tip before my cruise? Each time I try to call the helpline I am too late and they are already closed.

You just need to call DCL and have the gratuities added to your cruise cost. If you used a TA, they need to make the call.

The call center is open on Eastern time 8:00 am to 10:00 pm M-F and 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Sat/Sun. That's a pretty wide window, you should be able to make a call somewhere in there.

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern time; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern time.

Also, a little clarification for others reading: even if you pre-pay the gratuities, they are not distributed to the people being tipped until the end of the cruise, so adjustments can be made. However, if you just wish to add to them, it's simple to put additional cash in the tip envelopes (along with the gratuity coupon).

You can place funds in your onboard account at any time in advance by calling Disney (DCL). You only have one onboard account, and all expenses (tips, drinks, shops, shore excursions, etc) are charged to that account, so the funds aren't "reserved" for tips, but will just be used against your final bill. Since you know the suggested tips in advance, a lot of people think of this as "prepaying tips" although you are just filling up your account with money ahead of time.

Anyway, just call DCL with a credit card, and they will be delighted to take any amount of money you want to put in your account!
