We Are: Myself, Mother of Lynn and proud Grammie of Wade (just turned 8) and Tyler (just turned 5).

Monday 25: Got up early to go to MGM. We decided to take the bus and got there right at 9:00. The lines were there, but not really that bad. Went straight to Muppets, which is one of my favorites. Got a FP for Star Tours for 9:55 and went on the Great Movie Ride. Tyler didn’t care for this at all, what with the alien part and the shooting. Lynn & Wade didn’t like it all that much either. We went on to Star Tours but first I went and got a FP for Indiana Jones for 12:50 (for the 1:00 show). Everyone enjoyed Star Tours. It always amazes me that they can create that illusion of sharp turns and high speeds when the chair never really moves forward or down. It was 11:30 by then, and we went to Brown Derby where I had a PS for lunch. We were seated and served immediately and got out of there by about 12:15. Lynn & I had the Cobb Salad, which I like. Lynn didn’t care for the chopped up consistency, although liked the taste. I wanted the kids to see the movie about Walt Disney’s life, since I wanted them to know something about the creative genius behind the place they enjoy so much. We went straight thru the exhibits into the Movie. I’m not sure they really got much out of it (although I think Wade might have) but it’s very well done. Walked over to Indiana Jones – our FP time was over at 12:50 and we made it there at 12:45. But found that it was standing room only and didn’t want to stand, so we gave our FP’s to someone else and left the park. I’m not sure a FP is really that great for this, if you have to stand in line anyhow to get a seat.

Went back to the hotel and everyone took a nap, even me. Only had about 5 hours of sleep the night before. After nap, I took the boys to the pool while Lynn went to the workout room, which she loved. Tyler had been very hesitant about going it alone in the water on his first try, but he was totally over it by the time we got in. Went down the slide about 10 times and was doing back flips off my knees by the time we left. Always in his life jacket, since he’s not big enough to stand up in even the shallow part of the pool. We played around in the pool awhile, came back and ate in, and then the boys and I went down to the beach to watch the electric parade, which they really weren’t all that interested in, but did enjoy playing in the sand. Lynn remembers this parade from her first visit when she was only 6 years old, and is amazed how timeless it is – that not one bit of it, including the music, has changed at all.

I think I may have to do it...thanks so much for your report.....
