Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site and am loving all the awesome info everyone has to share.
Our trip is tentatively planned for Nov 2, 2008- Nov 9, 2008. This will be election week so I am wondering how this will affect the crowds?
I have an issue with crowds, especially where my children are concerned. My boys are 9 & 7.
We are planning on staying at the Pop Century and using the dining plan.
My schedule has us flying in around noon-ish and my plans are for us to check in, hang out at the resort for the rest of the afternoon, have dinner and retire early.
Does this sound reasonable? I did not want to pay for a whole day ticket that we would not be using.

Any feedback would be very helpful.

I think that time of year is pretty good for crowds, although there are no longer any really light crowds at Disney anymore. I always consult ***************** (the site of The Unofficial Guide to WDW). They have a really good crowd calendar. You can only see a few months ahead for free, but if you have the book (you can check it out from your local library or purchase it), you can enter in some info from the book to open up almost nine months worth of data. I find it to be quite accurate and helpful.

Hope this helps!

Hi Karen, and welcome!

Take a look at the prices for extended day park tickets. Once you get past the 4 or 5 day mark, extra days become incredibly cheap-- as in $10 or so. It might be worth it to you to spring for the extra day after all.

If not, then certainly enjoy the resort or head down to Disney Downtown. Or go to one of the resort restaurants-- Chef Mickeys in the Contemporary, Ohana in the Polynesian, or 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian are all on my list of places to go to.

Think about making those reservations soon so you get the resort and the dates you want.

Also, I've been doing my homework. Here's an overview: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1715551

Thanks, I am planning to call at the end of February. We don't do credit cards for anything other than emergencies so I am waiting on our tax refund.

The weather and the crowds that time of year are great. Your first day sounds very nice, but as another poster said, the price difference for tickets is negligible...I just booked a 6-day stay for December, and the difference between the 5-day and 6-day tickets is $6 per ticket - I think it's worth it in case the kids really want to check out the parks on their first day...it might be hard to tell them they can't, they'll be so excited!

Spend that time after you get there going to Downtown Disney. The buses will take you there. They have a huge toy store, lego store & restaurants. Items at these stores tend to be cheaper there than in the parks too. :cool1:

If this is indeed Jersey Week and you have an issue with crowds, you may want to consider another week. We have experienced Jersey Week, and while not impossible, it is very busy. There are much slower times.
