Pre-Park Opening Breakfast - Parking Lots Open?

We will have a car for the first time this year for various reasons. We have an 8am breakfast at DHS on a day the Park opens at 9. Will we be able to drive & get into the parking lot on time or do we have to take the bus? I don't mind taking the busses at all but we were late for an 8am Tusker House breakfast after waiting for a bus for well over an hour so I just want to know all of our options.

Although I have never done an early ADR, we have done RD at pretty much that time before. The parking lots for the theme parks should open 1 hour prior to the opening time of the park.

The only lot that ever opens late is the one at AK. You'll be fine.

I would still take the bus, but allow more than an hour just in case I just miss a bus and the next bus fills up without me.

If you had to wait that long for a bus or if the parking lot opens late, then the restaurant should have honored your reservation (ADR) anyway. Pretending that your ADR time was 10 minutes after* your arrival time.

Unfortunately by the time you realize it is too late for the bus, it is also too late to leave the bus platform and head for your car.

A wait of an hour (use a stopwatch) without seeing any bus for your destination is by itself worth reporting to Guest Relations.

* You're supposed to be there 10 minutes in advance.
