Hi

Need a quick bit of help - I need to get a pre-paid currency card for someone else to use (i need to add the funds) - if I go in to a travle agents and pick up one - will I be able to pass it to the other person to use?

Does anything come through the post?

Sorry I never used them as we use credit cards/Sun trust account when we go to Fl.

Help!

not sure about through a travel agents... but i think you could oder them a fairfx card online (in their name) and add the funds that way

Be careful with the TA cards - I got one for my DD to take to Canada with her (she is away for 5 weeks) on the basis that I could top it up while she was away. They assured me all would be fine but I only found out they set it up all wrong when I did need to top it up.

What I discovered after the event was that the card should have been set up in my name and linked to my bank account with DD as a second card holder.
Also, find out how much it costs to top up on-line (hidden charges can be high) and how the exchange rate compares.
If you give someone a card in your name they might be asked for ID and not be able to use it (although probably fine at ATMs).
Everything was done in shop and just activated on line

This was a TC cash passport operated by Travelex -personally, I prefer the Fairfx card but they don't do Canadian$.

Thanks

I have decided to go with cash as it is a relatively small amount and the cards look like hassle!
