I'm new at this so bear with me......

I've noticed the form from DVC for pre-ordering groceries to be delivered to your hotel.

Has anyone every done this?

We'd only be needed items like breakfast cereal, juice, snacks, frozen pizzas, bottled water - don't plan to do any major cooking.

We'll be staying 4 nights at AKL first then on to VWL for another 4 nights.

Thanks everyone

I have done it, just be careful the size of things that you order. I got enough water to take a bath in one time when the bottles of water were about 2 quarts size instead of smaller. They will deliver to your room at a DVC resort when you check in. All the food comes from their little stores right on site so it is a good thing all you want is frozen pizzas, etc.

If you are renting a car, there are a bunch of good grocery stores, on the way from the airport you could stop.
Most of the car services will allow for a 30 minute stop no charge to pick up items.
The stores at DVC are ok, but have a limited selection, and are more expensive. We use the store to fill in for a milk or OJ if we run out.

Thanks everyone

We're not renting a car and am going to use one of the towncar companies for our trip. And, we are staying at AKL before we go over to VWL.

I guess we could do a grocery stop on the way from the airport to AKL for dry goods - just not any perishables and just find a corner somewhere to put it til transfer over to VWL.

Even if your room is not ready they can hold your perishables for you. Just note what needs to go in the fridge/freezer when you check your baggage. You may want to buy sizes that you can consume at the first resort and then re-fill things like milk at the other resort.
