Pre-ordering food on MDE question

I read somewhere that you can't pre-order food on MDE app and pay with your Disney rewards card (or rather since it's paid for with whatever card is linked to your account, I should say that you can't link your rewards card to your MDE account). I just wanted to confirm this/make sure that's the most updated info.

And yes, I know that I could use the rewards for other things, but I booked my trip (partner hotel, UT tickets) such that the fairly large rewards balance is being used strictly for food and other small purchases. The pre-order feature was the one thing that's new since our last trip that I was most looking forward to : ( Was hoping I somehow got it wrong.

Mobile ordering charges to a credit card only. As I understand it, the “rewards card” is a Disney gift card. You cannot use a gift card to pay for mobile ordering.

Bummer. I thought so, but I didn't want to miss out if that info had changed. Standing in line it is, I suppose.

Yes it charges to the card linked to your account. You cannot change that card when you order food. I really wish it was linked to your room charges. That would be so much easier

That wouldn't really help me, either, as I'm at a partner hotel (but I can see the appeal if you're on-site and would rather do cash or whatever).
