Pre Ordering Food at Quick service question

I read in another thread about someone ordering food outside the Electric Umbrella then picking it up inside, is this a new thing? how do you go about doing this and is it only for EU or all quick service places? Thanks

Here's a current Restaurant Board thread with the listing:

It's pretty slick. You submit your order on the MDX app....when you get to the restaurant, just click to let them know you've arrived. The order is then prepared and you receive a message when it is time to go to the pick up area.

It's most Quick Serve locations (and some snack places, like Aloha Isle). You order in the app on your phone.

I did it at Canteen, Aloha Isle, and at CHH. Id have to say the system si pretty flawless and its much mroe relaxing to do it that way in my opinion.

It just registered that this is available for CHH. My friend and I have plans to head to Magic Kingdom from Hollywood Studios about 1-2 with us eating at CHH when we get to MK. I could do the order on the dang bus or while we wait for the bus and then click the we're here button as soon as we arrive! Squeee!

Can someone tell me how this works if you want food a specific way - like a grilled chicken club at cosmic rays without cheese or bacon? Is it possible to customize order with mobile ordering?

Some customization is available, but varies. Just go ahead and pull it up and try to put together the order to see. You do not have to be at WDW to do it. Just do not place the final order.
