Pre-Order PhotoPass $99 Deal - Gone

We've bought it our last three trips and make sure it is packed with pics from every park. We don't have to take a camera, worry about batteries, ask others to take pictures of us, and my wife can't wait to get home and go to the website and starting doctoring all the pics with special Disney touches before having the CD mailed to us. We probably stop and see at least one photographer per hour, day and night, at every park. They know the good shots, it takes maybe one minute, and it is SO easy.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I think it's not just 1 CD. If you take tons of photopass pics and pretty them up with all the borders and such you get as many cd's as it takes to get all your pics for the 1 price.

That's correct - although I'm guessing most people only end up with one CD. But if you have too many photos to fit on one, they will send you more CDs to accommodate the photos.

I just got off the phone with MS. The CM did not know about the discount. I leave in 8 days. I guess they all haven't been informed yet? For those who have been successful, did you have to mention anything specific to the CM?

Well, I spun the wheel again and the next CM knew all about it. I was off the phone in record time!

I guess if the CM you get doesn't know - you may just have to call back!

Call MS back. I called photopass this am and was told MS has the "Resolution" for the problem.

When I called MS this morning, the CM didn't know about it either, but I politely repeated what the photopass CM had said and politely asked if there was someone there she could check with.

She put me on hold and came back with the memo they got. They verify we qualify (DVC stay beginning within next 10 days), fill out a form including our email address and we get an email that has a discount code to use when we're ready to order. Code deducts $50 from our order.

The email/discount code does not obligate us to order the photo CD and we don't have to pre-pay. I like it. :teeth:

I don't quite understand who is getting the pins either, but, if this is the case* and it's only being offered to those paying for a resort "hotel" stay (not on points), and if the 10% discount is so important to a DVC member, there's a simple solution: Get the best of both worlds: Book the first night of the stay at a value (hopefully it's a Fri or sat & you can save a ton of points) have a night of silly, huge, iconic fun and then move over to your DVC room all while having the pre-ordered discount.

And with only 1 night, nearly everything should still be packed making it easy to have bell services move your luggage over for you.

* again, we're not sure who is being offered the pin codes, and I might add, not everyone is up for the challenge of moving resorts. Fully understood.

what do you mean "bell services" move your luggage? i know to pack up or keep the main stuff in your car/room,but what esle do you mean?? thanks

I received the discount email, too, by calling Member Services. Thanks Disney Fix and others who posted! The Cast Member who helped me said we had to be within 40 (or 45?) days of our stay, which of course, we are. Just 15 days and we're there!

I think it's great that we get to apply the discount to our order when we get home, too. Pretty sweet, if you ask me. I'm glad they finally got things straightened out.

Totally off topic to this thread -- if you have a split stay of any kind at 2 Disney resorts, Bell Services will move all your things from one resort to another. I didn't understand your comment about "know to pack up or keep the main stuff in your car/room".

Thanks to all the DISers advice I was able to call MS today and get it for our upcoming trip.

I just told her I wanted the Photopass offer I had heard others had gotten. She asked me to hold on because she had thought that she had gotten an email about that. She came back and confirmed all of my info and then put me on hold to fill out a request form. A couple of hours later I got an email with a promo code in it. Easy and quite a savings. I definitely like that you do not need to preorder it this way but still get $50 off.

Even though we have never bought a Photopass CD before I would love the opportunity to get one cheaper if we have enough photos next week that we like. I am hoping that we get at least one pic that we like enough to use in our Christmas card this year.
