vodka sauce (.50 after coupon)
corn ( free after coupon)

for desert was brownies ( .20 plus cost of eggs and oil)

all from pantry and freezer
total cost for dinner for five ~ .90 :rotfl::rotfl:

Well we finally have a little of the s word today (snow :scared:) so we decided not to head over to my Grandma's since more is expected instead we will do chocolates on Sunday.

Breakfast was cheerios and milk. Lunch is going to be leftovers.

Dinner tonight is sausage (freezer) and baked french toast (bread that is starting to go stale) with fruit cocktail (pantry).

Last night I used up the last chicken breast, the last box of chicken tettrazini (.50 on sale!), and the last 1/2 a bag of broccoli for dinner. Yay!!

Tonight it's a hodgepodge of sorts. Youngest dd wanted the leftover chicken noodle soup, please, help yourself!! The rest of us will have chicken patty sandwiches, the last of a bag of tator tots and a can of baked beans (.25 stockup pantry item! I actually think that's my last one!).

We did splurge last night and bought a ton of the Southern Comfort egg nog we love. But, I consider that seasonal spending...not groceries! :santa:

Good for you:cheer2: You are really getting to the bottom of your stored stuff.

I consider making fudge the same way you consider egg nog.:)

sorry I have not been on to post what we have been eating
mon- sheapards pie
Tue- eggs, french toast
wed-. Hot dogs mac and cheese and corn:sick:

Today I found one hamberger patty:idea: so I am makeing Chilli

One hamberger patty, one can crush tomatoes, one can kiddney beans and a can of Chilli...ta da:idea:.. also I have some brown rice,,,,,, I will need to shop for some food after Christmas... I have made a major dent in my pantry:love:

Also I will be adding some cheddar cheese and sour cream to garnish the chilli

Tonight is pork chiops (at least that is what I think is in the foil package dug from the freezer),

I am cracking up! When I was in the hospital and my folks were here helping out, my mom saw what she thought were potatoe crisp patties in the ferezer so she stuck them in the oven for dinner. She thought they'd go nicely with whatever meat she was making that night. But they were FISH! not potatoes. She didn't know that until she started to smell them baking. I laughed so hard when I read your post -- now I label EVERYTHING.....:lmao:

and I am trying to use out of the pantry and freezer and we're doing great with that. But I know in another week, the kids will be out of school and I'll have to take into account that they will eat lunch at home. That might be a little more challenging.

It was pork chops in that foil pack last night!

Tonight - DH is doing a show so ds and I are on our own. I think we will do leftover BBQ Pork sanwiches or leftover Meatloaf. We will have salad or a canned veggie.

I have 1/2 pound of ground beef to brown up. I am thinking about addding some BBQ sauce and making BBQ bundles with some biscuits in a tube in the fridge. They could be lunches for tomorrow

So since it is cold outside I decided to finally tackle the basement pantry and I have no words. It took three hours and 6 yes 6 garbage bags. No one had cleaned it out for quite a while. The scariest thing was a can of corn that's expiration date was 05/05/1997 :scared:.

I even scrubbed the shelves and moved some of the stuff from the upstairs cupboards and pantry down there. I also made a list of what is down there and put it on the fridge so we can check for items before we buy.

:lmao: 1997! I think you win.

Yesterday was DSis's birthday so I brought my own food to heat up for dinner plus some chicken tenderloins for the kiddos to make into their own nuggets while babysitting.

We ended up ALL going out to dinner, so now I have enough leftovers for two more meals! (Not to mention what I was originally going to have for dinner.) The more I try to cook and go through the pantry and freezer the more food I seem to have!!! Help!!! :upsidedow

So, tonight I'll finish up the chicken piccata, another serving of angel hair, cook up the tenderloins (freeze, maybe?), and hopefully finally grind the bread crumbs I've been meaning to since Monday.

Lunch today was my chicken noodle soup (freezer) - thankfully I only have one more serving of that left. It didn't turn out quite as good as the turkey soup... :scared:

Tonight was another inexpensive meal. It's only three of us home tonight and youngest dd asked for breakfast for dinner. We had bacon, eggs and silver dollar pancakes. Yummy and cheap! :rotfl:

I have some pork steak I need to do something with... any ideas?

Fry them in a pan or throw them in the oven with cream of mushroom soup. The soup will make a gravy and you can serve it with noodles or a potato. It's an easy to make dinner.

I still haven't made a dent in the freezer.

Wednesday-we went to my dad's for dinner.

Thursday- i had a gift certificate one of my students gave me so I treated the kids to Applebee's, dh was home studing for a final.

Today- we are having mexican, beef tacos, mexican rice, refried beans. I do not have tomatoes so I guess we will do without and just have lettuce, salsa, and sour cream on the taco's plus cheese. Tonight we go pick up Panara bread for the food pantry and they always give us some mac n cheese and a sandwich. That will be lunch tomorrow since ds has a merit badge university tomorrow morning for boy scouts. Tomorrow night I have going to make homemade chicken soup, I have the chicken carcass and cut up celery, carrots, and onions in the freezer already. I have some leftover chicken in the freezer too, now i just need to decide rice or noodles to put in it.

I started making cookies yesterday. I made meringue and Mexican wedding cake cookies. Today I am making peanut butter blossom cookies. :lovestruc

Tonight I think I am making breaded baked tilapia and a baked potato or I have pork chops. I have to make the food last til my shopping day on Wednesday.

Have a great day!

Today I continued mt cleaning and oraganizing (don't worry no more corn from '97 :lmao:) Instead we brought down all the Christmas decorations and went through everything and have a box ready to go to Goodwill tomorrow.

Lunch was hot dogs and chips.

Dinner tonight is pizza because we are both too tired to cook and our local place has a good deal tonight.

We've been making somewhat a dent in the freezer ... but we keep eating at my parents. UGH.

I'm thinking chicken alfredo tomorrow ... which was supposed to be tonight, but we're at my parents. Tis the season

Tonight was pasta e fagoli soup leftovers from last night. I'd added some leftover steak to it so it wasn't a completely meatless meal. And we munched all day on some lemon-ginger scones that I made today from a mix.

Monday's got to either be something easy like hot dogs or a crockpot meal as I have to run out with ds14 early.

I took the giant turkey out of the chest freezer today. My sis and I finally nailed down this Saturday for family Christmas at our house so we'll have turkey, crockpot stuffing (bread cubes already in the freezer), gravy stockpiled in pantry, ditto for jellied cranberry sauce along with several other dishes. Not everything can come from the freezer and pantry.

Tuesday will be pork chops, pineapple, frozen veggies and peanuts over rice to use up the pineapple, pork chops and rice if I can get the veggies and nuts tomorrow.

Wednesday will be chuck roast (from the freezer) in the crockpot with baked potatoes if I'm organized. (Anyone put baking potatoes in the crockpot? I've never tried it. I do have a recipe to do so.)

Thursday is a guess.

Friday is crazy. It's DH's work Christmas party but it's an hour plus from here. And I'm going to have a houseful the next day. Umm... when am I supposed to clean and cook?

Today we put up our decorations.

For lunch we tried one of those new steamfrsh meals from birdseye and it was not very good. So we opted for grilled cheese instead.

Dinner was some bratwursts I found in the freezer and warm potato salad and sauteed carrots.

Dinner tomorrow is going to be potato and corn chowder in the crockpot since we are spending the day at my grandma's making chocolates.

I tried the demi baguettes from Aldi finally - they're very good! I used half for my sloppy joes for dinner tonight and the other half will be for French toast tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

Let's see...we did pretty good on Friday! I have a huge bag of potatoes I got on sale so we had mashed potatoes, saukraut (last of the pantry stockpile), frozen corn (last of a bag), and the last of a ham I had made months ago and frozen the leftovers.

Last night my daughter marched in a Christmas parade then I had to to go to work. So, we splurged and had dinner at Outback between the two. We have leftovers for lunch today.

Tonight's dinner will be turkey breast, rice and peas.

Last night was the old standby of hamburgers and cream of mushroom soup. Tonight pork chops. I am totally out of potatoes and sick of rice so we might have to resort to a Lipton noodle package. Now I am trying to figure out what kind of cookie I can make today. It might be coconut macaroons. Somehow I have to make it til Wednesday and shopping!

Well, I haven't been very good this past week. I went and bought a bunch of junk for the girls to eat on Friday since they were both having a sleep over at our house. I spent 60 bucks on chips, juice, water, dips, pizzas and dounuts. I did get 2 bags of ravioli and a big bag of mozzerella and parmesan cheese block. I made the most delicious baked ravioli last night. Oh well, they had a good time and we'll eat it all up in no time. We were bad and ate out for lunch yesterday after basketball.

Tonight I am using the last of the turkey breast I cooked last Sunday. It was a 9.5 lb. breast and we got the main meal last Sunday night, several days of sandwiches, used the breast bone for the most yummy turkey and rice soup ever using the last of my fresh carrots and celery, made a chicken pot pie with the last of the crescent rolls and a bag of frozen mixed veggies. Tonight I am making turkey tetrazini with the rest of the turkey that I froze a few days ago. So, we got 3 dinners, sandwiches and a big thing of soup out of that turkey breast!

I also made beef vegetable soup with left over roast, stock, more frozen mixed veggies and 2 cans of tomato soup. Lots of soups last week!

Tonight we are having the turkey tetrazini. We are running all week after school, so tomorrow night I am putting a 2lb pork roast in the crockpot for barbeque sandwiches with corn and fries. Tuesday I think we will have the beef and brocolli (finally), Wednesday tacos and popcorn shrimp for one kid (she doesn't like tacos), Thrusday quick beef stroganoff with rice and peas, Friday will be pizza and baked tilapia with rice for parents and Saturday homemade lasagna. We'll see how well I stick to this???
