Well, I haven't been the best at this. I have still spent quiet a bit a money in November and went to the grocery Monday and spent around $125. But just today, we booked a suprise trip to WDW for after Christmas. Leave on the 26th and get back on Jan 2nd. So....we are really not buying any food except for milk, bread, fruit, some fresh produce (not much though) and Christmas Eve Dinner, still haven't decided what we are having though.
We have been eating out of the pantry somewhat. Last night was my version of swedish meatballs. I used a pound bag of meatballs (I had them since last December), onion, jar of beef gravy and a little woreshire sauce and allspice. Cook in crockpot all day, add a dollop of sour cream, heat and serve or egg noodle. Added a bag of frozen corn on the side.
Tonight was chicken breasts, diced tomatoes, and rice in the skillet flavored with an onion, garlic and italian seasoning. It's a one pot dish and everyone loves it here. You can do it with pork chops too. Tomorrow I am popping a 3lb. roast in the crockpot with carrots, celery, onions with mushroom gravy, served over mashed potatoes.
I'm sticking with this until December 26th!
