They still dont guarantee it (i.e aircraft change etc) but I always have pre-booked and so far have got my seats...also we use Twlight checkin - so normally have no problem
I think I'll try then for the back of the plane as it seems quieter. We'll probably go for 2 rows of 2, right at the back, so we can separate the wee ones - less chance of fighting.
We phoned virgin atlantic direct to book our seats. We opted for seats close to the toilet and close to the front. We went with 4 and on the way out were in seats 37(last in section before break) toilet was right behind us. And seats 34 coming home. Virgin staff were excellent. We booked both way seats at the same time, and the staff were extremely helpful. We also booked our kids meals at that point too.
The last time we flew with them I rang 3 days before to request bulkhead as I have a small problem with my knees and my GP suggested it. I made it very clear to them I wasn't disabled in any way and would just appreciate it if it was possible. They insisted on marking it as a medical request and we got bulkhead seats each way when we checked in at twlight without even checking.
I rang yesterday with the same request for our next trip and they have marked the reservation in the same way. I also specifically requested upstairs as we are flying PE and ds really wants to be upstairs again and not in the downstairs PE and I was assured that was totally confirmed and reserved.
It will be interesting to see what happens when we do twlight check in again in November. We are getting up early and plan on being there for noon when it opens.
