I am very sorry to read about your grandfather. I know by reading your original post that you believe and have faith in God. Know that God did not want your Grandfather to suffer, and that he is no longer in any pain. Unfortunately it is our own selfishness that still wants them here with us. Your grandfather is in a much better place and he hurts no more. God Bless you and your family, I pray that you all find some peace.

May I suggest something for the children? You might want to go by the local library and ask the librarian if she can suggest a good children's book for the situation. There are several out there that might be helpful. Or stop at a bookstore and buy your own copy. I used to keep a list handy when I was a teacher, but I don't have it on my computer.

Kids bounce back quickly. You'll probably be surprised at how they handle it in the long run. I'm sure it will be hard, but if you give them lots of hugs and talk about it, they'll be okay.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss. I was devastated when my own grandpa went "home." I will pray that you and your family find some comfort at this time. I don't know if this is something you would be interested in but my godchildren lost their grandmother last month,and my best friend has each of the kids(around your children's age) either draw a picture or write a letter to MiMi and she allowed them to put it in the casket at the viewing. She said it made the children feel a part of it and helped give them a voice of expression. Just a suggestion. Please take care of yourself.
