Prayers needed Please

Please keep my fil in your thoughts and prayers, if you would...he went to the va hospital today bc he hasn't been feeling well, it seems he had a heart attack earlier this week. Now they are keeping him overnight and want to send him to Boston. Ugh...I'm playing phone/text tag with my husband who is trying to get his mom on the phone to find out what's going on.
My fil's father died at this age of a massive heart attack, I think this is weighing heavily on everyone's mind right now.

Seriously? Now my dad is in the hospital too, severe abdominal pain, could be internal bleeding....what is going on around here????

I can't imagine having to deal with both your DFIL and your father dealing with these situations at the same time. I will keep both of them and your family in my thoughts and prayers~

He probably had what is known as a "silent" heart attack.

My aunt went to the hospital one night as she was not feeling well. They sent her home. She drove to work the next day (long commute), worked, came home, fixed dinner, etc. when she got a call from the hospital telling her to come back immediately as it turned out she had had a heart attack the night before. Now they do that test before they send you home.

This was 25-30 years ago, and she is still going strong. Well into her 80s.

My dad who lived to be almost 89 was asked at the doctor's once when he'd had a heart attack. My dad said he'd never had one - the doctor said well yes you have. There is some enzyme or something that shows in the blood. He literally never knew when he'd had it.

Don't put too much emphasis on another generation dying at an early age. The treatment of coronary disease has progressed tremendously. It used to be sort of "normal" for men to die about 60 from heart problems.

I know it is always worrisome to hear of any health issue - but the chances are very, very good that he has many, many more good years ahead.
