In light of the recent events that happened in Dallas, I ask that everyone please keep the families of those fallen, as well as the entire Dallas PD, in your thoughts and prayers. This story hits home for me, since my husband works in Public Safety.

I was at Dallas Police HQ Friday night. I talked with lots of shell-shocked officers and met citizens of all colors who were there to pay respects or get comfort or try to make sense of things. There was a great sense of unity and support and "we're all in this together" throughout the crowd. And hugs. There were lots of hugs between all kinds of strangers, both in uniform and civilians.

You can hardly even see the two police cars under all the flowers and notes and stuffed animals. One car is from the Dallas Area Rapid Transit police force and one from the Dallas Police Department.
