Prayers and Pixie Dust please (Update page 2 - #19)

My dgs (6) is being admitted into the hospital tonight. He has had a long running problem with impacted bowels and they are going to run a tube down his nose and try to flush him totally out. Please send a little prayer that this works and we can get the little fellow back to his wonderful self.

Little prayer for his twin sister who is going to be very upset that he is not there with her tonight.

I will be staying the night with him and hope I will be the comfort he needs. The twins and I are so very close, I was the first to hold them and they have lived with us since the day they came home from the hospital.

I have no idea, I just talked with his mom and she doesn't know how they are going to do it. Right now we are having a problem getting him a room, at first they said 5 now they said they will call her.

My DS 11 has had the same problem for the last 6 years.
We have to have him on a special diet.
High fiber, fresh fruit & vegetables.
He also takes mineral oil & vitiams daily.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for dgs.

I am sorry that it took so long to get back, but we went from hospital to Thanksgiving and I really haven't been on the board until today.

When I got to the hospital that boy had already figured out how to make the bed go up and down and how to change the tv set. It seemed to take forever for them to actually get the tube down his nose (safe to say he didn't enjoy that at all), they kept bringing in things one at a time and would leave for about 1/2 hour and bring something else. I think that part was worse on the grown ups because we just wanted them to do it so we could start getting him cleaned out.

Without going into the details by the time we left the hospital they had given dgs 2 gallon size jugs of medicine through the tube in his nose, 2 enemas, 1 suppository and 1 other medicine through the tube. He was still impacted when he left the hospital but they said it was very soft and we just need to keep a watch on him. If he goes more than 3 days without a movement then we have to give him a suppository. We have to watch his diet and give him medicine twice a day, but at least he is at home.

The funny part (I know hard to believe there is a funny part) is that he is eating like we have starved him his entire life. Saturday alone he ate 4 waffles, 2 toast, 1 yougurt and 1 banana. This was all before 11:00 and he has been eating like that ever since. The boy might stop looking like a bean pole.

Again thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I always know that if I come to the DIS board, people are there for you giving their support and love.
